Personally, I wasn't bored at any point in the episode... but that's just me. I was having fun seeing everyone reunite and seeing the pretty realistic reactions to each other!
Cersei thinks he will do anything for money and position. So far, that has been his modus operandi thus far. However, I'm thinking he will see the truth in it - Cersei doesn't give a fuck about him! She'll have him killed and use her dead brothers as martyrs for her cause. Thus, he will likely find honor in the end. That is just a guess, though!
Most likely they didn't want to pay him for use of his image again!
Definitely a great time! However, don't go in expecting anything, just try to hang with the characters. That is the best way to enjoy it!
Agreed! Perturbator is in the soundtrack, and that dude is great! But the rest of the music is excellent too! Great soundtrack!
I agree with this. Both versions had their strengths. Personally, the big thing that sold me on this version of Pennywise was the laugh. Much closer to how I always imagined it while reading the book!
I rather liked it and put it probably behind H1, 2, and 3. However, I'm biased to those!
Agreed.
Looks awesome! Can't wait!
Glad you liked it! Both are great films! I grew up liking 2 better, but changed my opinion as I got older. Something about the atmosphere and feel of the first, along with the fact that it is basically a horror film, elevates it for me.
I'm one of the few fans of the original over the sequel out there (and that tells you something) and I say definitely yes! T2 is an amazing film! I just happen to prefer the first, though not by much!
Fair enough! Great response!
I hear your point, OP, but I will say this: for home defense in the way she was set up, honestly, shotgun all the way! Biggest bang for your buck on a single shot in close quarters! She wasn't really trying to hit him outside the house, or either sniper rifle or AR would be best, easily, but for her setup and planned indoor fight, shotgun was the best idea. She should have stayed with that instead of firing it once and dropping it for the lever-action. Also, and this is a lot of conjecture, the character could have just been most comfortable / accurate with that lever-action!
bsharporflat, great point on 6! I think it failed for other reasons, especially with Bellatrix's death mirroring his for no reason (floating ash), but you make a great point about it!
Definitely fun stuff! I wish we had more of this retro stuff! Definitely a good time!
I thought the score was excellent! Tons of fun to hear for the first time straight through and I played it on repeat on cd in my car on Halloween this past year!
Hey, try Commando Ninja. Sorta similar to Kung Fury. Same type of feel, different type of film. Can be found in full on youtube.
I'll have to try that at some point, though I think I did many years ago...
tph, you make very good points. However, I knew several combat vets, and they laugh at movies like TRL. The issue is that those characters are nothing like soldiers or other combat vets. Plus, historically, we were very invested in that war, particularly in the Pacific, due to the attack at Pearl Harbor, but every soldier in this movie was already disillusioned at the start of the war. There was no bravado, very little brotherhood, and while vets have respect for movies like SPR, Platoon, and BHD, they laugh at attempts like TRL to ignore how soldiers really act. That is why I rate it so low. It may be a good movie (I personally found it boring), but it fails to represent soldiers.
I've been a big fan since the pilot. I wasn't sure about it before I saw it, but was hooked quickly!
