I think its an excellent film but dragged a bit in the middle when Tsugumo was recounting the travails of his daughter, son-in-law and grandson in detail. I also thought the swordplay was a bit lacking by comparison to, say, Sword of Doom.
Thanks. “Here” being where?
Cool. Thanks!
👍
Same. It will be interesting to see if Disney can sustain fan interest in the MCU as they launch movies based on lesser-known superheroes and reboot their blue chip franchises with new actors. I definitely think they risk audience burnout from overexposure. George Lucas was wise to spread out his Star Wars trilogies. Disney seems incapable of showing such patience.
Going forward I will probably only watch superhero movies that receive near-universal acclaim. The last one I saw was “Joker” which I found entertaining though I thought it failed to live up to the hype.
I assume and hope the latter (title only).
Good suggestions. With so much money at stake, I would be surprised if Disney’s marketing department didn’t field test alternatives.
10% seems high. Wikipedia, citing a 2011 UCLA study, says 3.5% (including bisexuals) in the U.S. though significantly higher in some cities.

Anne both then and now.
I’m guessing the reason is that few would buy a comic or see see a movie headlining “Jane Foster”. The character lacks name recognition and cache.
> Thor is his name, given to him by his parents at birth not a mantle that can be passed.
In the first Thor movie Odin took Thor’s power from Thor and later restored it, so I suppose it stands to reason that that a power transference is possible. But I agree with you that it’s dumb to call anyone else Thor just because they wield his power.

That’s a good policy. Counter disinformation with information and mockery or deprive it of oxygen by blocking offending posters. Censorship is a blunt weapon that is often abused.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Just mock and/or block (ignore) conspiracy theorists.
I’ll bet he lasts a single term, propped up by his staff and family, but they won’t be able to conceal his increasing cognitive decline. It will be reminiscent of Reagan’s second term.
Yes, Insee the resemblance. Plausible siblings.
Yes - cringey. It just underscored that Jason was a man-child. I honestly don’t know what Julie saw in him.
Agreed! Jason was a douche.
I didn’t find Jason’s conversion at the end of the movie at all convincing. I could see him realizing that he is in love with her but not that he wants to make love to her. I think it is highly unlikely for a man to discover he is sexually attracted to a woman (whom he sees frequently) only after many years unless her appearance has changed significantly.
A remake could still be set in the same era and retain the meal ticket aspect of the plot. Even today, fewer than half of Americans, women included, finish college. The divide between Zack and Paula was more about a class divide than a gender divide anyway, as underscored by Seeger’s presence in the program.
> R2 3PO are kinda based in characters in one of Kurosawa's films.
“Hidden Fortress” is the name of the film.
