Why are like half of the characters in this movie gay?

Because in Hollywood land 50% of people are gay. Didn't you know that?

Well, for serious, about 10% of the population anywhere is gay. Maybe more. There were what, four characters who we are told are gay. (Gay people are around all the time -- a person's sexuality is not always relevant or revealed.) And yes, if you're hanging around in arts and entertainment circles, there will be more openly gay people.

10% seems high. Wikipedia, citing a 2011 UCLA study, says 3.5% (including bisexuals) in the U.S. though significantly higher in some cities.

Having watched the documentary "History of the World Part 1" I'm convinced that this began during the stone age!!!


