Because the US dairy industry is subsidized, so we protect our domestic producers from dumping. Also Free trade is good, but domestic food industries are protected so that if tensions ever grow one country can't starve another by stopping their exports.

Actually I finished my post grad in 2015.
At no point during my undergrad or post grad did I learn about "white privilege". Socialism was touched on in a history class and economics class in passing only really.
