Facts. Years from now I highly doubt anyone will recall nor fondly remember what this movie was about other than it featured the return of Jackman's Wolverine. This doesn't come close to being similar to Zoolander. This was an action-comedy, where the comedy was the (annoyingly forced) backdrop. It's the same reason No Way Home was a success; a somewhat long awaited comeback for revered characters. MCU has been striking out bad as of late so it definitely wasn't a driving factor. The fact that it comes off too hard to be just that ("woke-free") is just as annoying as if were woke. I'm with you. This was really bad. I'd imagine he like most would have an accountant. I don't doubt that Cruise is one for having fun on the screen (also worth mentioning Tropic Thunder as an example too). I just think in this case it differs. Downey got the part, he didn't (and I believe Cruise was first choice originally). I would've loved to see those cameos but let's be real, there would've been no way in hell Marvel could've enticed Norton to come back under any circumstance given their history. Cruise seemed like a long shot as well and with a huge ego like that one, I just don't see him taking on a role for one he didn't get originally as THE Iron Man. All in all, these were fan rumors and nothing hinted on by Marvel. Deadpool's cameos were fun for the fans but disgraceful in the context of the film. MoM had a little more prestige from the jump as they were all part of the Illuminati. The plot was definitely lacking. I have enough sense to know his audience by who attended. Grandma and the like weren't exactly in the majority. Plus you definitely get a sense when obscure cameos would show up on-screen and the reactions they'd receive but keep bein you I guess... Definitely didn't give me Johnny Storm vibes. He probably doesn't even remember how that character's supposed to be lol. No. No one asked for this and you can point to the data. Outside of Civil War, which was a glorified Avengers movies, his movies don't gross well. Yup.
Marvel needs to introduce the idea of superhero movies being standalone films instead of part of an “expanded universe.”
Probably impossible now given how accustomed people are to the concept but definitely agree. It was fun for the first 3 films (Iron Man, Hulk, Thor) but has turned into a convoluted mess. Agree 100%. Would've much rather seen the continued struggle in "running" an aspiring Michelin Star restaurant a little more in-depth. I think he did all that because he had this intensely weird attraction towards the dog which is even weirder. Yes. Very formulaic. They couldn't help themselves in this one by having an epic showdown with a buncha Deadpools, not explaining why or how they came to be. Even though it was sort of his character in this movie, Hugh just looked fed up and uninterested. Especially considering she looked and acted unphased throughout the entire movie. They didn't show her very ill but definitely showed her suffering at times. With limited to no resources, I'm sure she imagined it would've been a living hell on that boat.
