In my opinion Denholm Elliot had the strongest performance of any of the actors in either film. I liked Russell's Sophie better than Baxter's.
I read the book this year; it is different. The book is told in the first person by the author with the other characters passing in and out of his life every few months or years. It is the author who finds Sophie dead in the morgue and confronts Isabel about her attempt to push Sophie back into the life that killed her.

Black Lives matter was created in part because "all men are created equal" did not include black people for a the longest time.

The Foundation prequels and sequels worked better as books, although the prequels read like they were constrained by having to reach a certain ending to conform with the original Foundation novel. The sequels, Foundations Edge and Foundation & Earth were better reads.
That money wasn't dished out just because he died, it was because the city kept a dirty cop on the force and only fired him after he murdered a man, just because he could.

I'm fairly certain that police, firefighters and soldiers don't do their jobs so that their families will be entitled to life insurance. I did not serve in the military for the life insurance benefits.
I don't feel insulted by the payout to the Floyd family. I think it is insulting that the Minneapolis PD only fired Chauvin and did not arrest him; like they were just washing their hands of the matter. It was up to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to actually arrest the officers who killed Floyd.

I enjoyed reading the books. I think they would have been better if they were originally written as novels instead of serials and had better continuity.
In the book one of the jurors said that to the others doing deliberation. Of course they have to give that line to the lead in the film.

Your complaint is a valid one. The books were even worse. They are a collection of short stories published in the magazine Astounding Science Fiction between 1942 and 1944. The stories that make up the 2nd and 3rd books; Foundation and Empire, and 2nd Foundation were published by 1950. The first chapter of the original Foundation novel was written in 1951 when they were published as a trilogy.
The books lack unity with most characters disappearing except for occasional mentions in the future stories. The TV series could have fixed this without adding all of the stuff about the Emperor clones.
If white people suck that bad, then they deserve to be pushed aside for another master race.

The Republicans of the 1950's are not the same as the GOP today. Eisenhower would be denigrated as a socialist today. The Democrats of today are nothing like those 70 years ago also.
