Agreed. The movie was excellent, a perfect blend of romance and comedy at a slower pace that gave the time needed to experience all of the innocent sweetness Carla and Daniel share for the very first time together as they fell in love. I love when they are watching the Graduate and the crackers on her lap were spilling from her excitement, he could not take his eyes off of her. Such a wonderful thing that has happened to him, from many earlier comments we learn he went from being all alone to meeting someone he likes that likes him back and now they can share this movie together. Because of Carla's excitement over the film, she doesn't quite grasp Daniel's seriousness immediately when he attempts expressing he would like them to be more than just friends. But he continues to ask her as he reaches over to slightly adjust her sweater collar. This automatic affectionate gesture and first gentle touch from him alerts Carla to the importance of his question. The scene was so perfect and romantic when she agreed and he put his arm around her. I also liked how their conversation on the couch about his first time was handled. His embarrassment and her seriousness that lead to his confession of love for her brings tears to my eyes every time. Their mutual deep love for each other makes this movie a joy to watch over and over. A couple of other small parts I liked was the attentive shoe salesman. Really liked seeing pretty Carla getting some genuine personal attention. Also nice seeing Carla's feelings as a young woman emerging after witnessing her classmate sexually coming on to their teacher. Carla and Daniel preparing their own vows was a beautiful surprise so full of love and caring. We should all be this lucky to find such love in our lifetime. ... and if it did turn out to be true, I thought it would throw a really cool twist into the story. Something so unexpected. And it's not that I don't like James but only for the fact that he was the perfect choice. It probably boils down to just feeling sorry for Snape, his tears and deep feelings for Lily really got to me. The idea to me was intriguing so I tried to piece things together. The thought still does not seem to be improbable. True. I think I enjoyed toying with the Snape possibility because I felt sorry for the way he was treated. Thanks so much gjb2074 for the information. Thank you for the link, it was nice to hear this beautiful music. Still looking for a CD or Cassette Tape which I do not seem to find. Your viewpoint is perfect and well received. Not having read the books, I needed to hear this. Thanks Otter. h-oates: Your viewpoint was impressive and welcomed, yes Stock did not act like Number 6 but I had no problem with this. And though I commend 6 for his individuality, I know so little about his private life that I'm believing it's possible he is engaged. New facts and behavioral displays only added more excitement to the story for me. Checkmate was excellent and so true he almost made it. Speaking in terms of "falling apart" or "not fitting", though I love Many Happy Returns, I have a hard time with it. After all his struggling does he really see his car, go inside his old residence and eat all of Mrs. Butterworth's sandwiches and fruitcake, or was he drugged once again and awakens in time to see Number 2 bringing in his birthday cake? Your listing of favorites in their order from best to least really got me to thinking what my order would be. All of the stories are good in different ways. Do Not Forsake Me and Schizoid Man are tied for first place, and I love that 6 calls her Allison- the only time this was done. Harmony just leaves me a little flat though nice to see some new attire, and Fall Out eludes me in some ways. Of course I'm glad he escapes but unsure how I feel about how he went about it and I've no suggestions for a different ending. Funny though he takes the little butler with him. The DVD commentary was saying perhaps Angelo might be Number 1 LOL! Here's my list for the record: 1. Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling 2. The Schizoid Man 3. Many Happy Returns 4. The Girl Who Was Death 5. A. B. and C. 6. A Change of Mind 7. Checkmate 8. Hammer Into Anvil 9. The General 10. The Chimes of Big Ben 11. It's Your Funeral 12. Free For All 13. Dance of the Dead 14. Once Upon a Time 15. Arrival 16. Living in Harmony 17. Fall Out I believe Ego's brain had the appearance of a human brain for the audience to identify with. Yes they could have had it look like a door knob or a steak but this worked. And same goes for Ego's appearance when he was shown with all the other species. From our far away view we can spot him from the hair and the jacket and we relate to the story, but in its reality logically he would have appeared the same as each one of those species we saw him with. Of course they could have shown him in that form just wearing the jacket so we could find him but the short scene was explained clearer for the audience the way it was done. And I agree he was aged as he was to be what Peter expected. I found Christopher Timothy very likeable in this part. But I have seen him in other rolls which I did not like him in at all: "The Mind of Mr. Soames" he was unfeeling, uncaring and self centered. And though he had his own good reasons shaping up later in the program, Lord Peter Whimsey's "Murder Must Advertise" he acted like a real jerk. They say when an actor can play many different characters and all of them move you one direction or the other, it is the mark of a good actor. I liked Carol Drinkwater in the part of Helen, much warmer. But Lynda's seeming coldness in the part was just incorrect casting. If you watch Doctor Who's "Trial of a Timelord", Lynda Bellingham portrayed the Inquisitor and fit perfectly in the part. Besides it's always a jolt for the audience when a substitute is thrown in as we all had already decided that Carol was the right one in the right part. Chinese and an Anchor Steam. I see your point, but then she would not have been able to use the cute phrase "she looks familiar too". There was only that one other dance done twice in the movie, so it gave her fans just one more to enjoy. It's obvious Shirley is not a ballet dancer, but we love her anyway. I kinda felt this way when I saw her in "Heidi" with the big wig and Victorian attire - it seemed out of place but I don't mind. She's awesome! Totally understand where you are coming from and Yes I would've liked to have seen Ram Dass step in right then. For me, though it would have been the right thing to do under the circumstances it doesn't bother me that he did not and I just move on with the story. I grew up with Shirley Temple and have seen this movie lots and lots of times, so I've just accepted this particular scene. My opinion is Ram Dass honestly did not realize that the girls were not pretending and you can see his reaction stepping back on the steps when he finally realizes it's not just a game. Most likely he did not step in because of Shock and Position. When Ram Dass first meets Sarah she is dressed nicely and in a nice room. Then later on when he must retrieve his bird that flew across into her deplorable conditions he comes face to face with the changes that she has encountered. Though she explains she must pretend to keep things nice for herself, his face shows he realizes that Sarah has met with some unfortunate circumstances, thus he and his master give her the expensive comforts. So when Sarah and Becky ask if they may pass through his home, he thinks again that they are playing a pretending game. In short - I think he was caught "off guard". I know you know all this but wanted to say it anyway. Definitely the tarantula on Marv LOL! Couldn't tell you which burglar was the funniest, both are a hoot! For sure, "why did you take your shoes off?". Putting the first and second movies together, my fave line is " That's the sound of a tool chest coming down the stairs". I laughed out loud every time I hear it! Growing up with the first one with all those great songs, I thought both movies were good and found a nice surprise around every corner. Really enjoyed the updates to Slugworth, Charlie's house and the multi-Deep Roy and of course loved the fabulous Busby Berkeley numbers! Glad to get more details on Charlie's family, Willie's childhood and his father the dentist. It took me a while to catch that Willie's gloves and his father's were the same kind. Good ending too seeing the children leaving the factory so you knew they actually were safe. This is one of my favorite parts for the very versatile Johnny Depp. Interesting viewpoints on the Gunslinger's gun. My opinion is he had the same Westworld gun as he always had and the system malfunctions changed the guns programming causing it to kill the guests. Also I agree that the temperature changing colder could certainly have an influence on the systems issues although not only did the wild west have its cold spells but it just might have seemed a little more unpleasant that morning after John and Peter's bar fight binge. strntz: One of the ones I don't remember so had to watch. Tears filled my eyes while watching this wonderful story and how touching Donald Pleasence was. Wouldn't it be a blessing to catch that glimpse of reassurance that we have made even the smallest difference in our lives somewhere and the hard roads would seem all worth while. Thank you for the reminder. Happy Holiday's. "Scarecrow'' was excellent and I liked that Ryan, reminded of his younger brother became close with the poor boy who witnessed his father's horrible death.
