Haha, you speak so much truth. I wish I could remember this word for word the next time someone starts talking about Nolan’s Batman movies. There’s not much to understand. His films are typically a boring, structural mess with characters who are nearly impossible to root for. Nolan simply isn’t the “genius director” that his fans want him to be, and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean that you guys have to shit on people who have a different opinion. And look, if in 40 years people are STILL talking about his movies (which I doubt very, very much), then we can revisit the “Christopher Nolan is a genius” talk. For now, though, all you have are a few well-shot commercial flicks, not cinematic masterpieces. Is this a real question? The Force Awakens is the second most successful movie of all time in terms of box office. The movie was made to make money, and it did that in spades. Doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a good movie, but rereleasing a film that’s been widely available on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray for over thirty years is not going to make anywhere near the return on investment that a new Star Wars movie will. In other news, give whining about Star Wars a rest. Every one of these negative threads has been started by you. I hated TFA and The Last Jedi looks even worse, but that’s life. Disney is making money and so it’s not going to end anytime soon. Commercial success doesn’t necessarily mean that a film is a masterpiece. Blade Runner 2049 is a masterpiece. There Will Be Blood is a masterpiece. No offense, but nothing that Nolan has ever done even comes close to the level of skill one needs to exhibit for their film to be called the M word. The man makes beautifully shot popcorn flicks that are each more structurally messy than the one that came before it. The only reason his films are held in such high regard at all is because modern Hollywood has set the bar so incredibly low with all of the superhero bullshit they pump down our throats nowadays. If you would have dropped Nolan’s films into the mix back in the mid to late 70’s, no one would have blinked an eye (minus the special effects, obviously). Huh? So glad to see that other people feel this way. I haven’t been truly impressed with one of his films since Insomnia (and certain aspects of The Prestige). It blows my mind how overrated this guy is. Is it not good enough, or is it TOO good? Eh? Ehhhh?! Because selling real memories to the Wallace Corporation is illegal for her to do, and considering that she has a compromised immune system and would likely get sick if she stepped out of her glass room, I’m sure she wasn’t prepared to admit what she had done and likely go to prison for it. You speak the truth. Huh? This is honestly the best Hollywood movie since There Will Be Blood. I’ve actually been feeling the same ever since The Force Awakens. I grew up with Star Wars and loved it, but yeah...I’m just over it. All of the promotional materials for The Last Jedi have left me feeling so incredibly meh that I honestly doubt I’ll even see the movie. If you had told 15 year-old me that, he would have scoffed. LOL.......Jesus. The Duelists. I can’t disagree with anything you said, man. Spot on. Tell me about it. How are people still excited for these, and yet Blade Runner 2049 made no money? Same goes for all of the superhero shit being pumped out by DC and Marvel. Like, enough already. So did I. Every superhero movie ever is beyond suspension of disbelief. I’m so sick of these fucking things. Other than the original Burton Batman from 1989, Deadpool is the only superhero movie that I’ve truly enjoyed. Is it different from all the other nonsense? No, not really. He still wears a stupid costume and fights bad guys and hops around like an imbecile hopped up on coke. But is it DIFFERENT? Obviously it is. It’s the same as saying that Spy Kids and Skyfall are the same. I mean, yeah...I guess they are...kinda. But one is for kids and one is for adults, and thus adults are obviously going to enjoy the one featuring James Bond eatin’ butts and fuckin’ faces. Makes me want to vomit. I hate that this will make more money than Blade Runner 2049. Haha, this is the best comment on this site. Keep up the good work.
