a movie needs on average to make twice it's production budget in order to come out even...
sometimes that's not even enough
wishing Blade Runner 2049 the best though

no the production budget includes marketing and all other distribution financing
it is now history, blade runner II is the highest grossing blade runner film of all time

Yeah, but does sci-fi do well in China? I thought it was one if the less popular genres there...

Should be interesting.. maybe they'll market it as an effects/visuals movie as you say...
