How old are you lmfao
This was early 2000s small town shit. Nobody owned a cell phone, maybe George's spoiled ass would have been the only one that could afford one
I heavily disagree. I feel like the aftermath is *supposed* to be deflating, they were all more or less having a good time at that point before things went off the rails. Anyone would feel devestated in that moment and we the viewer are also made to feel devestated as all the air gets sucked out of the room and the consequences of their actions set in.
Brilliant ending, I wouldn't have it any other way.
He had a mean streak though and knew what to say to get under people's skin, as well as inflict physical punishment
At the end of the day, he just wanted to be accepted/have friends, so yes, it definitely was realistic. Especially kids who are as idiosyncratic as him
"characters"
they were naive kids shocked and traumatized at a plan gone wrong. Did you want them to be criminal masterminds?
Thank you. I'm utterly baffled at OP here, thinking they were criminal masterminds. They were bored kids living in small-town Oregon. None of them would have known what to do.
That scene was weird because they showed the camera sinking and it looked like he hit his head on the camera and started bleeding. I was like no way....
Actually, this one felt way more realistic than Bully.
Bully is based on a true story, but it's so asinine. As in, these kids are all idiots to go along with a plan like that. Like people who don't even know the guy are suddenly gung-ho about a murder plan?
Mean Creek is infinitely more realistic: Prank gone wrong, and the aftermath of the death causes them to break down in the same night.
Are you forgetting that he raped Lisa?
I'm glad that so many people came to this conclusion. There is absolutely nothing upstairs in her head. "Blase" is right, but she's a total airhead for the whole movie too.
