Well considering Snipes went to prison for tax evasion for awhile, probably enough to have a roof over his head
Snipes wasn't convicted of tax evasion; he was convicted of three counts of misdemeanor failing to file a return I'm not sure what your definition of a "dud" is but several Emilia Clarke films where she was the female lead have been objective box office successes. Even "Solo" which famously underperformed, still made almost $400 million dollars. 1. Last Christmas Budget $25–30 million Box office $123.4 million 2. Terminator Gynesis Budget $155–158 million Box office $440.6 million 3. Me Before You Budget $20 million Box office $208.3 million 4. Solo: A Star Wars Film Budget $270.8–300 million Box office $393.2 million Honestly this is only slightly exaggerated. If not for the "stinky smelly girls" who no one wants to see in their underwear & saying African American instead of "DEI hires", it would sound like typical "anti-woke" whining. I always assumed that Clooney & Tarantiono probably didn't quite hit it off while filming 'From Dusk Till Dawn', considering they never worked together again after that film. It's kind of a shame because I thought they worked well together in that film & could have worked well together in future projects over the course of their careers. I guess Tarantino still isn't exactly Clooney's biggest fan for whatever reason. It would be pretty strange for Michael Keaton to be playing a rookie Batman at 37-38 years old but the movie seemed slightly contradictory on the issue. Keaton's Batman definitely comes across as very experienced, like he had been doing it for years, but I seem to recall at the beginning of the movie, the crooks & the police seemed to have no idea who Batman was. I mean virtually all of the younger actors (20 something or younger) were completely unknown when they were cast. Most built pretty comfortable careers off of GOT but it was very much an ensemble cast. It's not that strange that few would become superstars off of the show but a least a couple of them have had very successful careers outside of the show . Emelia Clarke especially has gone on to have numerous starring roles in major projects. Peter Dinklage just may be the most successful dwarf actor ever since GOT. So yeah, i don't think the "zero star power" thing is accurate. John was such a little POS in this scene. He needlessly insults a good samaritan who was checking on his wellbeing after he screamed for help then orders Arnold to violently assault him for insulting him back. That definitely stood out. None of the previous films have ever featured such graphic depictions of face hugger "assault". I guess they're trying to one-up what audiences have seen before. To each their own. I thought i was being pretty generous ranking her a 5. Helen Hunt was a 5 before she got old. With hose ultra-thin, old lady lips & creases, she suffered from premature "granny face" If Trump was killed there would almost certainly be violent responses from the far right regardless of the back & forth finger pointing. At best it would rally his base behind someone so far right that that they would make Trump would look like Bernie Sanders, so the other side should be glad that didn't happen Key word "perception" aka both sides of political sheep fighting over how the narrative gets "spun" for propaganda purposes. It's very manipulative. I enjoyed both as a child but I get why Lion King was the Di$ney's biggest hit of that era. Personally, I liked Aladdin a bit more but The Little Mermaid was always my favorite. As someone without a dog in the fight, I find this predictable back & forth finger pointing between "left" & "right" partisan sheep to be very boring. Like okay he was a registered Republican. Who cares? He was clearly a nut. What prize do you win either way? All of you people are ridiculous. A quick google search would explain it better but some examples are new planets, new species, a deeper exploration of Jedi culture ... etc. Just a variety of things that enrich and expand the mythos of Star Wars. Not quite but very underrated. It did have the best world building & probably the best soundtrack. Even if there were some areas where it could have been better executed such as the romance scenes (even though i under what Lucas was trying to do with it) It's still top tier "Star Wars". She's made numerous weird comments that make it sound like she has a lot of negative baggage with men & this just sounds like more of that jaded "f*ck men!" performative posturing. Who really cares either way though? She was the hot chick in that Adam Sandler movie several years ago & briefly dated Kanye West. That's really all she's known for. An interesting take that certainly goes against the grain. I disagree but an interesting take nonetheless. For me it was never about the bloody spectacle or action scenes that made this movie interesting for me. With all the (well deserved) praise for the practical horror effects & designs, for me it was mainly the tone/atmosphere that makes the film special. The slow buildup of something foreboding and terrible to come. That arctic setting is almost a character itself and it adds to the sense of isolation, claustrophobia as paranoia that slowly takes over. The score also does a very good job of aiding to this atmosphere. The popular theory is that Macready is human & Childs is most likely the Thing but it was ultimately left ambiguous so we have to base our conclusions on the rules that the series has established. Both were human. The Thing cannot repeplicate inorganic material. It spits it out when assimilating someone. In the final scene we see Childs still has his gold tooth and earring. Childs is human. The Thing wouldn't blow itself up. Macready is also human
