That gay quota ain’t gonna fill itself, you know…
I don’t know that it is Harlan pushing for the woke nonsense or Netflix. I read the book years ago and I am pretty sure there wasn’t a trans character in it. I am also pretty sure there wasn’t a random character going on an anti-cop tirade for no discernible reason.
The idiotic Faks are ruining the show for me. I disliked them before, now I outright hate them.
No, why?
It's not just you.
Denzel is a fantastic actor with great screen presence, but he is too much present-day American to play a Roman.
I thought the same thing when I watched The Last Duel, coincidentally also by Ridley Scott. Matt Damon as a French medieval knight I could buy. Ben Affleck I just couldn't.
Yes, they were both nominated, Voight for Best Actor and Roberts for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Neither of them won. I was surprised to read that Eric Roberts got an Oscar nomination for this movie, as I thought he was terrible in it.
There are gender ROLES and gender STEREOTYPES but gender only exists as a synonym of biological sex. There are no male women or female men. There are males with a mental disorder who think they are women, and females with a mental disorder who think they are men.
No, I saw that, but I was left wondering if the papers could have been forged on the orders of the dying Pope in order to hurt the chances of the candidates he disliked.
First of all, wasn’t he cleared? Second, I don’t think that is how it works. Unless there is an international warrant for his arrest, Spain wouldn’t know that he is a wanted fugitive in the USA - and since his crime was not nearly serious enough to justify an international warrant, he is probably safe in Spain as long as he doesn’t commit any crime there.
It's a very good movie and I am glad I saw it, but it is unpleasant to watch. Be forewarned!
I know this thread is from a long time ago and that is highly unlikely that anyone who contributed to it will ever see my reply, but I just have to say this: how stupid does one have to be in order to fail to understand the difference between a movie that is racist and a movie that has a racist character?
Also, there are references to “la Gare Centrale” (Central Train Station). Paris doesn’t have a central train station.
I saw the first episode. I wasn’t crazy about it. I will keep watching for now. One thing that wasn’t clear is whether each episode will be a separate story, or if there is a season-long arc.
What are you, some kind of white supremacist? Don’t you know that blacks have played an integral part in Irish and European history since the times of the Romans, if not before? Why do you want to erase black Irish history? Shame on you!
The main difference is that in the original
<spoiler>the killers win</spoiler>
No, it is not cool at all. What is wrong with releasing it in theatres and then on streaming a few months later? Everybody’s happy.
If the premise of Greek Gods and myths transposed to the present day is of interest to you, then yes, it is worth watching.
That is exactly what it is. Greek Gods and myths in the present day. When I saw the premise I just had to start watching it. I am not finished yet. I was not blown away by it but I am enjoying it.
Sorry, I just watched the scene again (near the end of ep 3) and you are wrong. The announcement says six fighters, with one boy and one girl serving as captains. It does not say three boys and three girls.
Fake passport.
