Clint is trying to say the moral was: black people are all secretly assholes. You should listen to him! A better title for this movie would've been "2 Angry Black Men" 2007, since it was the first thing I thought of before seeing what you wrote. She was everywhere from 2005-07, and then she became irrelevant seemingly overnight. I'm not sure why other than she was in too many stupid movie/refused to get naked as she was still hot. People got sick of her and saw she had nothing to offer I guess. She was a terrible actress and she kept choosing terrible films to be in. I think she just has bad taste- anyone could tell you Spy Kids 4 would be a horrific bomb, yet she wanted to be there just to do her stupid 'pregnant spy' idea she pushed since Fantastic 4. Yeah she miscalculated- if she went nude people would've kept going to her movies to see if it would happen again. Instead since we knew she would never go naked, what was the point in seeing the movie? Imagine if she was fully butt ass naked in Sin City, it would keep being watched and screenshot today. It's nice to think people are still lusting after you, especially when you get older. Now she's known more for being a stuck up airhead. Bunch of low IQ nitwits who have no minds of their own. Anyone with half a brain, I get that they might not all be MAGA, but would see that being a dem serves a false ideology that's enforce for no other reason than to keep the DNC/special interests in power. They don't care about you, only so many of you are too stupid to see it and default to "them am Nazis/we am right!" What a sham of a "holiday." We did not need yet ANOTHER Monday off (what is it with the incessant Mondays? I can't get my doctor appointment, mail and trash doesn't come on the worst possible) smack dab in the middle of June. Hate it and it never should've been a thing. What you're missing (not a surprise, none of you have common sense) is that to us, nearly everything in the last 4 years was something we disagreed with or affected our lives negatively. I can't think of one decision Biden made that made my life better, regardless of ideology. Whereas I legit agree with 99% of what Trump's doing and it would be what I'd hope the president would do, anyone, in my wildest dreams if I knew nothing about the candidates. GW Bush sure wouldn't have done this well. That's the difference, but you guys actually sit there thinking we hate the banning of DEI and child gender swapping because in our hearts we know it's "wrong" lmao. Bingo. My attitude is, inflation is so bad, it can't possibly get any worse lol. Have to take medicine before it can get better, there's no way to make it happen overnight. Whereas the lib cucks like OP were more than happy to take it up the ass paying for eggs because their wonderful beautiful totally not narcissistic senile leader was in charge. Yeah it creates this weird disconnect where Dennis- if he were real- would have a lot of personal problems from his upbringing. Put down by his father and Mr. Wilson constantly would give you a complex. Whereas I think it would be funny and slightly scary if Mr. Mitchell was one of those permissive douchebag dads like Jack Doherty's father- it would explain so much of why Dennis is the way he is, and how it's turning him into a little terror! That's a good point- 89 has more macho muscularity, a real American action film feel which can be nice. Just ask Spielberg. Returns is too much of Tim's "I hate the cool kids" vibe and him doing his usual crusade into weirdness on behalf of all the geeky goth outcasts like him, and it's stupid and an ill fit for Batman. Who is pretty much Mr. American Muscularity. I agree. Not by much since Batman 89 isn't "great," and there's things I love about Returns, but 89 is more of a complete film. Returns is too much of an avant garden Burton art school project, with no real theme or message. There's no plot, the movie is just a disconnected series of events with a character study holding them all together. I guess 89 didn't have much of a theme either but at least you could go for "duality"/when you gaze into the abyss etc. 89 is more of a bland studio action film but I like that, Returns has Burton's trademark weirdness for the sake of it nonsense and he's just being deliberately subversively annoying quirky too much. How did Oswald get the plans for the Batmobile? Where does Batman's eye makeup go at the end? Doesn't matter, I'm quirky and weird and misunderstood, here's to all the gothic outcasts like me!!! I've seen the movie dozens of times but I don't get that from the end. It's possible he intended that on a subliminal or ambiguous level, but they seem uninterested in her to the point I would call it a coincidence. I feel if he wanted to make it more overt he'd have them usher her off with them more directly, because most of the audience wouldn't even catch that in 1999 unless freeze framing the VCR so why not. Oh yes. I've long said that it's absolutely the creepiest movie ever made; that can be off putting in some contexts, but for this movie it's just delicious and a pleasure to soak in every now and then. I don't really like David Lynch films (may he RIP) because he's weird for the sake of it and just creeps you out in off putting non-sensical ways just for the sake of being subversive. Instead of 'anything for a laugh' he's 'anything for a creep.' Blue Velvet is his best and even that's pretty bizarre. Whereas with Kubrick (all of his films but this one in particular), you're creeped out and the world is off putting and intimidating, maybe even frightening, but you can never really put your finger on why exactly and I love that. The vibe in Clockwork is so off putting with all the weird British people with their deformed teeth, and for the some reason the artificial fakeness of Full Metal Jacket is really sinister. I feel like this is why Kubrick preferred his cold clinical cinematography combined with getting super cheesy and dry line readings from his actors; he's not out to win them any acting Oscars, he's out to unsettle you on a subliminal level. He wants them to seem like zombies to enhance the nightmarish unreality of the situations he throws them in. I would've preferred Keitel but he's a well written character, most anyone would be memorable in the role. The thing is Keitel is sort of like Walken or Dennis Hopper; his persona is so over-the-top or at least well defined that it would fit in well with the Grand Guignol dreamlike nature of the story. You wouldn't be sure if Zeigler is just a kooky eccentric or a depraved lunatic. Pollack was fine but he's a little too strait laced as an actor that there's no humor behind his casting. Yeah I guess it makes him creepier to some extent, but that just makes him seem guilty and remove the ambiguity. With Keitel everyone would still be arguing if he was a monster looking down at Bill, or if he genuinely liked him and he's just so rich that he's out of touch. When Pollack gets exasperated at him at the end for not buying his lie about the locked hotel room, I don't quite like it because it makes it clear that she was murdered and removes the gray area yes/no nature of the story. Keitel is the kind of character you could know in real life, and then have a dream about him and he fits in seamlessly. To the point where you'd misremember what was reality. Pollack in contrast is about as fun as a heart attack. Slightly disagree (I like it marginally more than you do) because it at least plays fair with the audience; it either is or isn't a game, no in between. I think you give yourself way too much credit for "predicting" this movie's obvious direction when it was always going to be one out of two options. You won the coin toss so yay? I refuse to be lectured to by someone who writes 5 paragraphs starting with two on "Let me start by saying I love Imdb." You're probably one of those people that demands "source???" on reddit posts while you virtue signal She's pretty ugly. If the movie was made today you know she'd be a spicy Latina played by even worse actress, but at least she'd be nicer to look at and hopefully not so old. Whatsherface looks like a mummy in this It is the most annoying thing I've ever seen and I hate it It's also- unbelievably- pointlessly woke. They talk about the history of the Star Wars movies, shit on the prequels, and then unironically praise how popular and beloved the sequels were. Also go off on a weird tangent about feminism in the Aliens ep. I thought they were joking since the whole tone is so stupid, but nope, they're just being GOOD HUMAN BEINGS unlike me! She knew she had black plot armor on her side. Either way as soon as he started choking her out, I knew he was gonna die. They were ever reliable Russian terrorists so stop lying. Now if they were Mexicans or Ukrainian dogs or Palestinian savages, yeah you might have a point
