Sci Fi has not been doing well in theaters lately. Not counting superhero or Star Wars movies.
I've noticed that any time there is an intellectually curious movie, people get really pissed off and call it "dumb" and "pretentious".

Usually orally. The vast majority of human history didn't have any writing. A lot of societies didn't have writing.
I thought she was fine as far as acting. But somehow she didn't seem to fit into that world. But it definitely wasn't something that ruined the movie for me.
I was about 12 and really into cult or obscure movies. Saw it on the shelf at a local video store. I was horrified, but loved it at the same time. I bought that same copy years later when they went out of business.
I haven't seen it in 20 years, but I was so disturbed by it I couldn't eat until the next day. I've been really into horror since I can literally remember, and this was one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of the most fucked up movies ever produced.
I used to rent this from a local video store. When they went out of business I was able to buy it for a few bucks.
I randomly found a Radu action figure at a record store yesterday, and remembered how much I love this vampire. He's definitely one of the best movie vampires.
I haven't seen this show yet, but personally, I don't like sex scenes at all. Straight, gay, or otherwise. But at least gay scenes are little more rare/interesting. But I would prefer no sex scenes.
Male superheroes wear revealing costumes, too. Most superheroes, male or female, wear skin tight costumes all the time. Namor, Ka Zar, tons of other guys wear pretty much nothing but loincloths.
I got a definite David Lynch vibe. Blue Velvet/Mulholland Dr.
Not sure how he afforded a trip to Peru, but isn't he working construction?
Oddly, I do kind of root for Cal. But I root for Eddie more.

Yeah, the drop off in quality is a big bummer. When I watched Daredevil, I was seeing something that hadn't been done on TV before. Now we're back to 90s quality action scenes.
