Theory One:
Have you see any horror movies or read any horror stories?
Possibly, Ruth-Ann and Stepen-Floyd have been "taken" for some purpose by some one or someTHING, and all memory of them has been erased. That is not the first time that such a horror movie plot has struck a drama or a sitcom, and it won't be the last.
This is an example of Chuck Chunningham Syndrome.
<url>https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChuckCunningHamSyndrome#:~:text=Chuck%20Cunningham%20Syndrome.%20This%20is%20sometimes%20caused%20by,scenes%20drive%20the%20decision%20to%20remove%20a%20character.</url>
I note that there is a theory about "the Tommy Westphail Universe" containing hundreds of TV shows connected more or less weakly or strongly to each other and to <i>St. Elsewhere</i>.
So possibly someday a science fiction, fantasy, or horror tv series will have an episode or a major story arc explaining the Chuck Cunningham Syndome, with a character remembering someone they forgot about for years, and investigating their disappearnce and forgetting, and find out that somebody or someTHING is behind it. And if that show is connected to other shows and shares a universe with them, fans of the connected shows will suppose that also explans any example of the Chuck Cunningham Syndrome in those connected shows.
As far as I know, the only connections suggested for <i>The Torkelsons</I> is with the revamped version <i>Almost Home</I>. But possibly someday <i>The Torkelsons</I> will share a common universe with a show which does explain the Chuck Cunningham Syndrome with some sort of horror story plot - with a happy ending, I hope.
Theory Two:
Maybe the second season - or the revamped series <i>Almost Home</i>, happens in an alternate universe to <i>The Torkelsons</I>, an alternate universe with only three, not five, Torkelson children. In that universe there is no mention of Ruth-Ann and Stephen-Floyd because they died many years before, or probably were never born.
Her kind, obviously.
And I have often tried to figure out how to fit the floorplan of the sets into the actual building and the matt paintng used to show the exterior of the Addams house.
<url>https://moviechat.org/tt0057729/The-Addams-Family/58c724da5ec57f0478edcf28/21-Chester-Place-~-The-mystery-behind-The-Real-Addams-Family-House</url>
<url>https://21chesterplace.com/</url>
I think that it is probably impossible to fit the interior within the exterior, whcih is one of the reasons why attempted floor plans of the Addams house might be inaccurate. As with many movie and television buildings, it might be impossible to fit the interior within the exterior.
Which is a pity because a replica of the addams house might be a cool place to live.
I see that some of the chlld and teenage actors are stil alive, which isn't too unlikely.
IMDB lists what seems like hundreds of uncredited actors in the "Full Cast & Crew" secton of the page on How the Wast Was Won. I assume that the IMDB has some accurate method of identifying those uncredited actors.
<url>https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056085/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cl_sm </url>
Byran Russell (1952-2016) 63 years old, as Zeke Prescott.
<url>https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0751050/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t85 </url>
Herbert Maneval born 1946, as Schoolboy.
<url>https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6652895/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t62 </url>
Stanley Livingston b. 1950, as Prescott Rawlings
<url> https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0515301/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t61 </url>
Claude Johnson (1938-2009) age 71 as Jemimah Rawlings
<url>https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0424804/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t56 </url>
Kim Charney b. 1945 as Sam Prescott
<url>https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0153368/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t40 </url>
And posibly some others since I didn't check all the actors.
In my second and third posts at: <url>https://moviechat.org/tt0059978/Dark-Shadows/60e2aca0b452fc6236fd2879/A-Genealogical-Contradiction</url> I develop a therory which might explain a lot of inconsistences.

As I remember, there was an episode where Vickey was in danger, someone's prisoner I think, and Josette's ghost ordered David to help her.
Continued.
But how could Barnabas Collins, turned into a vampire in 1795 in an alternate universe, appear in the universe of the earlier episodes, starting the chain of events that caused Vicky to be sent to 1795 in that alternae universe?
Maybe Angelique didn't have full control over all aspects of her magic. Maybe unexpected side effects of her magic made many copies of vampire Barnabus in many alternate universes, and sent one copy, chained up in a coffin in the Collins crypt, into the alternate universe of the earlier <i>Dark Shadows</i> episodes, an alternate universe where Josette lived to become the Collins family ancestor. Then a quirk of the seance magic could have sent Vickie back to 1795 in the alternate universe where Angelique vampirized Barnabus and Josette died young.
And possibly no <i>Dark Shadows</i> character who time traveled or went to an alternate universe ever returned to the same alteranate universe they started from, which might explain a bunch of plot holes.
It would be a lot simpler to assume that David (and possibly other characters) simply made a mistake, But I like my alternate universe idea.
I asked the same quesitn in another web site:
<url>https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkShadows/comments/og1gvd/a_genealogical_contradiction/</url>
And some answers said that David did claim Josette was his direct ancestor and that her story was retconned for the 1795 story arc.
And someone suggested that David simply mistook Josette for a woman who actually was his direct ancester. But Josette's ghost was probably rather honest.
So if she asked David if he liked being with her and he said something like: "Of course, I must be the only kid in the world who gets to be with their great great great great grandmother" Josette's ghost would probably correct him.
So I have another theory.
Alternate universes exist in <i>Dark Shadows</i>. So maybe the first episodes of <i>Dark Shadows</i> happen in an alternate universe where Josette lived to become the Collins ancestor and David was right about Josette being his ancestor.
And the 1795 story arc could be set in an alternate universe where Josette died childless and the Collins family had a different female ancestor in that generation. In real life that would make it impossible for the Collins family to have the same members in 1967, but let's ignore that until sometime in the future when I think of a fantasy or science fiction explanation.
.
To be Continued.
I went on the first day in 1977, and as I waited in line a grown man came out of the theater and said it was the greatest movie ever.
But as the cannibal said, "There's no accountng for taste".
Some children might find <i>Star Wars</i> (or any other movie) too childish while some adults might find it grown up enough for them.
And many intelligent people might think that <i>Star Wars</i> (or any other movie) has a lot of flaws and a lot of good points. Of that group, some would think that the bad outweighed the good and others that the good outweighed the bad.
Probably in 1968 or earlier. Since then I have taken showers.
The images are not clear enough for me to tell if the faces look orcish. But have I seen the movie a few times and never noticed any orcs.
See my answer here: <url>https://moviechat.org/tt0052618/Ben-Hur/5c6b4e6adedb6431c2026e60/How-many-chariots-the-start-shows-9-but-6-wrecked-and-4-left-means-10</url>
The number of chariots doesn't add up.
Actually it is quite common for the number of people or things in a movie to not add up.
A 20-man military patrol might have 15 men killed in a fight and 7 men left alive at the end.
A cowboy might fire 8 bullets from his 6 shooter pistol without reloading.
Someone might have 10 coins and pay somene 6 and have 8 coins left.
And so on and so on.
The chariot problem is mentioned in the continuity section of the goofs section of the IMDB section on Ben Hur.
<url> https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052618/goofs?tab=gf&ref_=tt_trv_gf </url>
No doubt many other numerical errors are mentone in the goofs sections of various movies in IMDB.
There was a thread on a website about the scorpion on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids asking about scorpions in the backward, and I made one of the answers. I can't find that thread now.
My research showed that scorpions don't only live in the desert. Different species of Scorpions live in almost every type of environment. My research for the answer also turned up the information that Scropions are found in more than half the states in the USA.
<blockquote>Scorpions are found on all continents except Antarctica. The diversity of scorpions is greatest in subtropical areas; it decreases towards both the poles and the equator, though scorpions are found in the tropics. Scorpions did not occur naturally in Great Britain, New Zealand and some of the islands in Oceania, but have now been accidentally introduced into these places by humans.[24] Five colonies of Euscorpius flavicaudis have established themselves since the late 19th century in Sheerness in England at 51°N,[25][26][27] while Paruroctonus boreus lives as far north as Red Deer, Alberta, at 52°N.[28] A few species are on the IUCN Red List; Lychas braueri is classed as critically endangered (2014), Isometrus deharvengi as endangered (2016) and Chiromachus ochropus as vulnerable (2014).[29][30][31] </blockquote>"
<blockquote>Scorpions are xerocoles, meaning they primarily live in deserts, but they can be found in virtually every terrestrial habitat including high-elevation mountains, caves, and intertidal zones. They are largely absent from boreal ecosystems such as the tundra, high-altitude taiga, and mountain tops.[32][6] </blockquote>
Here are links to a couple of lists I found:

Different societies have different definitions of continents and thus list different numbers of continents.

Depending on exactly when Peter Pan met Wendy the first time, John and/or Michael could have been killed in World War One and/or World War Two. For example, J.R.R. Tolkien was the only member of his group of four close friends to survive World War I.
One of my great grandfathers had 8 children at about the time that the Darling children should have been born. Four of them died by the age of 10. The other four all lived to be over 80.
My four grandparents were all reportedly born within a period of five years. One of my grandfathers died 14 years before his widow, the other about 64 years before his widow.
A relative of mine lived for 80 years after being commissioned an army officer, despite serving in both World War I and World War II.
My father was 2 year younger than my mother but died 15 years before her.
My youngest sibling is the only one to die so far.
There is no force of nature making all people died at the same age, and so sometimes people die in a different order than their birth order. Thus there seems to be no proof that John and/or Michael must havve been alive or must have been dead during <i>Hook</i>.
The looting in ths film reminded a lot of people who might be older than you of a lot of other looting in many other fictional films and other news stories over the decades.
The link seems to be dead now. Here is another link to an article which includes that photgraph:
<url>https://www.gijobs.com/9-of-the-most-legendary-heroes-in-us-army-history/</url>
And a link to another article with that photo:
<url>https://www.argunners.com/john-l-clem-was-12-years-old-when-he-became-a-civil-war-hero/ </url>
Here is a link to an article with a drawing of the model 1872 campaign hat of Captain Frederick Benteen of the 7th US Cavalry:
<url>https://truewestmagazine.com/strange-hats-and-buckskin-coats/ </url>
And at least one photo in the article shows several hats worn that way. So that was one possible way to wear a broad brimmed hat in those days and some people did wear them that way.
I just looked up their ages.
Jay C. Flippen (Walking Coyote) was born in 1899 and thus turned 58 in 1957, Frank de Kova (Red Cloud) was born in 1910, 11 years later, and turned 47 in 1957.
Is 11 years age difference enough to make someone seem to be of a younger generation?
I note that Red Cloud (1822-1909) turned 44 in 1866, the year that Red Cloud's War (1866-1868) began. By then he was already a very influential chief of the Ogalla tribe of the Lakota Sioux. So it would have been unusual for even much older Sioux to talk of him like he was a member of the goofy younger generaton, since he was already a member of the generation of middle aged Sioux leaders.
