Got it. Makes sense.
In my younger years, I would get hooked an a particular movie and just watch it over and over every day - until I found a different movie to get hooked on.
Not only could I recite dialogue word for word, but I was also pretty good at matching the actors' voices, cadence, tone and inflections.
I have no idea why I used to do this, but if I were to put any of those on decades later, I still fall into the same recital.
Aliens
Blade
Demolition Man
The Search for Animal Chin.
There's only one, then there's everything else. The Search for Animal Chin.
It a sort of "believe all women" moment to teach us the lesson that we just need to believe women and do as they say and if we're not able to accept that, then we are really the cause of the problems.
It's a reverse side of the coin of an abusive spouse. Just do as you're told. If you just do as you're told, then these bad things wouldn't happen.
Yep. I think it worked well. I didn't even consider the issue until I read about it on the forums.
And like most second term presidents, he no longer has to worry about middle ground for re-election concerns. He can do what he really intends to.
When I was in the Marines in the 90s and early 2000s, we did a lot of cross training. For example, setting up and firing 81mm mortars is a specific skill that takes time and practice to master. However, I was shown the basics and I physically worked through the process with guidance from the "tube strokers."
And while I could certainly setup and operate, I wouldn't necessarily be able to put rounds on target. But I can put rounds toward the target, so there's at least that.
I also spent a lot of time showing infantry how to do what I did, in case I went down in a firefight, they could at least know the basics.
Man, this is spot on. I hadn't considered this nor thought about it this way, but now that you mention it, the light bulb has come on.
I'm glad I'm not the only one then. Thanks!
There's no room for nuance with these people.
> If you're a man who chooses to live as a woman, that's you're right and I hope you're happy. But I don't want you competing with my daughter in sports or sharing a bathroom with her or reading story time to my toddler in his school library.
"WHY DO YOU HATE TRANS PEOPLE?! WHY DO YOU WANT TO KILL US!!?!!!"
> We should not be killing babies with a heartbeat in the womb, unless the mother's physical life is at risk or she will suffer permanent physical harm.
"WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEM?! WHY DO YOU WANT US TO BE CONCUBINES WITH NO RIGHTS, FORCED TO BEAR YOUR CHILDREN???!!!?!?"
Ooh. This is good.
I thought you switched accounts at 8888 posts?
Now you have 11k+ WTF?

* Megan Thee Stallion (stupid, I know)
It depends on what you mean by "accepted."
Supporters can continue to claim that the election was stolen or fraudulent. However, we've still had a Biden administration since 2020.
There's no reason to think it wouldn't still be the same again.
It seems as though democracy worked exactly as it should have.
Yes. As is commonly referenced, a pure democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for lunch. The US Constitution protects the minority from the tyranny of the majority.
Pure democracy is just mob rule. However, I don't mind the word democracy being used as a generic term for a system of government in which the individual has a say via voting.
This pretty much describes all politicians. There are many that would argue that you could apply all of this to Trump as well.
