I had a similar problem with a crazy relative. I tried setting the ringtone to silent and then sending direct to voicemail, but I still had the same problem with the voicemail box filling up. I finally solved it with an app that would automatically answer and hangup, almost instantly. I never even knew I missed the call until I checked the list. It didn't take long until the attempts stopped, as they were rendered futile immediately. That's how I remember it, too. It was definitely part of the national discussion. Thanks for the reply. My general philosophy agrees more with yours. I posted that definition of evil for the sake of discussion, because Cookie.C.A. asks a good question, "How does the OP define 'evil'"? Until we know what the OP meant by "evil" it is difficult to answer whether or not nature is evil. It seems certain to me that there are violent acts of aggression in nature that, from a human perspective, cannot be considered evil. They are merely necessary, such as a lion making a kill to feed herself and her cubs. In the same way, viruses and bacteria are not Nature perpetrating evil, but rather the natural course of an ecosystem maintaining balance in population. I believe you are correct that actively causing harm for no good reason is a good definition of evil in this context. I would conclude from this line of conversation that nature is not inherently evil, because the violent aggression that occurs in nature is out of necessity. Whereas humans can be evil, because we will do those things intentionally and many times without remorse. So, it's a virus? The Day After. I was maybe 9 or 10 at the time and the cold war was in full swing. The imagery was horrific. The constant wondering of a 9yo mind of whether it would be better to get vaporized in the initial blast or live afterward with radiation sickness. It was some really heavy stuff for my young mind. Other than that, I did see a documentary on the Zodiac killer when I was also very young. I didn't understand all of it. All I know is that I didn't sit to take a dump with the shower curtain closed for years. Good call on The Warriors. Wait. What? When did this happen?? Does anyone know what Jenner whispered in Rick's ear? Friday The Naked Gun Old School Monty Python and the Holy Grail Super Troopers Under the Rainbow. I guess I've never noticed, because the last 6 vehicles I've owned, going back to 1997, all had automatic headlights that stayed on for about a minute after the car was off, as a convenience or safety feature. Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton This is a very good question. There are those that would say that there is no such thing as evil, just as there is no such thing as cold or dark. There is heat or there is the absence of heat. There is light or there is the absence of light. There is good or there is the absence of good. "Dark" and "cold" are not things, but rather descriptions we give to the conditions resulting in the absence of the light and heat energies. "Dark" is the description we give to the absence of light. You can't go into a lighted room and "turn on the dark." There is no device that generates "dark." If you want to darken a room you must block out the light. Dark and Cold are default conditions resulting from the lack of light and heat. The light and heat are energies above the default condition. In the same way, some say "evil" is not a thing. It is a description of the lack of good. Also in the same way, good is an energy above the default state. According to this definition, nature could be considered "evil" in that it is the default, uncaring condition. Once one sees the good that can be done, things can seem evil without it. *edited for grammar I think what you meant to say was "Toto Nico virus. Today's movie is crap! Jamie Lee Curtis, starring good movie, 90, the last of the virus in 1999. Travis starred as Nico" It jumped the shark when they never told us what Jenner whispered in Rick's ear. Why not have both? I agree that if it says "trending," then it should actually be trending. I also agree that some would rather see most recent than actual trending. Both have their place. If we're making requests, why not both? That sounds great, but what happens when a troll and his numerous sock accounts get annoyed with you and give you enough ignores to get you booted? What then? Any tool has the potential for abuse and the more powerful the tool, the more powerful the abuse. I'm thinking it would be a nice option to add any thread to your notifications, even if you weren't the creator. Anytime the thread was updated with a post, you would get a notification. Obviously, with the ability to turn it off, should you lose interest in the topic. I hope more of the regulars find their way here. It would be nice to get avatars back too. I recognize your name, but avatars catch the eye a little better. I think I'd recognize more posters by their pic, than their name. I've read the replies to this thread and it seems to me that it would be great if the user could configure the filter settings. It could be set with a default with the "normal" list of indecent words. Then the user could either disable the filter or select specific words that are censored. For example, a lot of people are saying they don't mind curse words, like the F word, but take offense at insulting words, like the N word. You could set your filter to "*" the N*****r word, but not Fuck. Seems reasonable to me, if it could be done. Please, stop holding back and tell us how you really feel.
