I saw this last night.. to be honest I hadn't heard of it until my dad recommended it but I'm glad I saw it now! It's a bit Quentin Tarantino in style with the non linear format as well as the level of violence although I personally preferred it to a lot of Quentin Tarantino films, I did think the end let it down a little though as I found some elements a little over the top such as (spoiler coming).... Liz dislocating her arms without any major struggles or apparent pain. Overall I really enjoyed it though and was pleasantly surprised! Number 2 is my favourite and number 3 is my least favourite.. they're all wonderful films though! It didn't feel rushed to me but I was annoyed that Ellen gave up work after being so adamant that she wouldn't need to.. it seemed as though Paula was justified in her concern the whole time. Yeah, I wondered that too.. I guessed maybe Ian realised by Ellen's reaction that she really hadn't taken the baby and that Paula must have done. I don't know what people get out of being like that, it seems more effort than it's worth to be hated so much. I agree, this is one of the best dramas I've seen in a long while (although I did enjoy Apple Tree Yard and am now reading the book). Have you seen the finale now? I really enjoyed it and think that it wrapped it all up really well but (spoilers now) I do wonder why the partners were so quick to believe this woman they've only known for a few months over their partners of years! I don't blame Ellen for being angry at Ian for ignoring her all this time. I know it would be a hard thing to believe that a woman could be that crazy but to cut your wife completely out of her babies life?! The very end also annoyed me as it seemed to prove that Paula was right and that Ellen shouldn't have gone back to work so quickly I think he is like previous doctors but I guess that's why he seems right for the role.. he's not going to have a new take on the character. I'm not a fan of football myself but recommend that film if you get a chance. It makes sense that they probably grew up in the same areas and would know each other. I think that was her best film (that I've seen anyway).. Have you also seen The Firm where he plays a football hooligan. That's the one.. I didn't know he was related to Kathy Burke, I know Laila Morse who plays Kathy Burkes mum in the film is his sister and she played Mo in Eastenders. I can't believe he's never won an Oscar and I don't think he's ever won a BAFTA for his acting, just for Nil by Mouth (which is an amazing film!) It doesn't matter what you, or I think.. it is down to the Ukrainians to decide what they want for their own country, regardless of what their name means or where they originated. I think the difficulty comes from the fact that those in the east are more Russian whilst those in the west are more European. When I went to Kiev in 2015, there was also a difference between the older generations and the younger generations who also are more European... I hope they find some peace. I wasn't on the original IMDb board but I'm a big fan of Gary Oldman! He was great in that! I think it's amazing how he is able to transform himself into all these different characters. I think maybe they should rename it 'if you like this, you may like...' or something like that. Some of the shows have similarities but some are just odd. I do like The Bit Bang Theory but it is not similar to Game of Thrones in any way, shape or form! You would also think they'd have Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. Vikings is a historical show so I guess that's the link there, some of them have a fantasy link, some the link is probably that they're violent/blood thirsty. On IMDb they have included Big Bang Theory, I can't think of the link there for the life of me! I don't think the religious talk is excessive and as you say, I'm sure some of them would need God in the circumstances! Other than Father Gabriel, I don't think they've mentioned God at all this season.. that said, I'm really not a fan of the Father Gabriel character. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the finale tonight and finding out what's going on! I think he wanted to be on his own and had planned on leaving completely but Carol asked him to stay there instead. I definitely don't think Richard is a coward, I think he was willing to die for the greater good and it's just unfortunate that it backfired on Benjamin (I agree that we guessed he was going to die when they focused on him and his relationship with his little brother). I was annoyed that Morgan killed Richard and risked Benjamin dying in vain.. Richard is another strong fighter who they are going to miss now.
