Yes, I was just saying to my wife after watching this that it aged very well. It could have been released yesterday and it still works.
As for the other post mentioning "gay undertones". No. Just no. There are no gay overtones. Sure there are boys in their ginch but it takes more than that to have gay overtones. For example, ACTUAL overtones.

Ben Falcone, the writer/director happened. He sucks. If Melissa McCarthy keeps making movies with him, her career is over. I actually don't know how she still working after all the shitty movies they've made together. They all get IMDB ratings averaging at 5/10 for a reason.

I have two of the three releases of this show. It's pretty cool to see both side by side. Seeing the concert at multiple camera angles at the same time is wicked. I don't know if the editing for the other release is different from the others or not. If so, I need to get it to see there cuts simotentously would be cool.

Dance on Fire (65 mins) is a collection of promotional clips, live concert performances, TV appearances and rare behind-the-scenes film footage. It was directed by keyboardist Ray Manzarek and includes 14 songs one of which is a short film by Manzarek backed by the song "L.A. Woman".
It's a great concert. Personally, I never thought it was strange. I firrs saw it when I was in my early teens and I was captivated & entranced by it.
I see how it could be construed as strange, but I have so much love for it. The Doors were great at grabbing their audiences.
Well they are both bald, but it's hard to tell if they are both the same guy because in the final scene, it's very dark and you don't see his face for more that a second or two.

It was a movie and exaggerated like all movies, for dramatic effect. When making a movie, because of how people are desensitized by cinema you have to exaggerate to get you point across.
"Almost like" yes.
He was a drunk, he did cheat, he did have spats with band mates. He did push limits and get arrested on stage for profanity and indecent exposure. No, he didn't show his penis for real, he didn't expose himself in the movie either. He got plastered at shows too. He had a concert with two performances and was set to go on for 7pm and 10pm. He didn't start his 10pm set until midnight because he was at the bar drinking. The owner was pissed and ended the show "early" by turning the power off on the stage! Jim pushed to keep the show going and the owner told them to leave or he would call every venue in town and tell them not to have the doors play there. Essentially saying "you'll never work in this town again".
Did things happen like in the movie, no, but his antics were almost comparable when the "big screen" isn't between the audience and the show. If you get my meaning.

They are one of my favorite bands. Maybe THE favorite. I've never been one to pick favourites, I have too many interests. If I was hard pressed I'd have to flip a coin between The Doors and Pink Floyd.
To illustrate my point...
I have had all of their albums since my early teens. I've been to a John Densmore lecture, and even asked him a question during q&a and had him sign his book for me. I've got a few Morrison poetry books too. Loved the movie and have a few VHS tapes of live performances, which are fucking awesome.
I still can't decide if I like Floyd better LOL

I've been a fan since about 1991. I would have been approximately 12 years old. That's when the movie came out. I don't have a clear memory of whether I was introduced to them before seeing the movie or not.
No, I sadly i don't really know any fans. I know people who like the common radio friendly songs, but not like me, who's had every album since I was a young teen.
During the production of their last album, LA Woman, he resigned from the doors. Jim wanted to be a writer/poet. As far as I know there was no talk of music or movies. He moved to Paris Before they even Finished mixing the album. He recorded his vocals for LA Woman then told the band he was moving and they could finish the album without him.
I think he would have written some more poetry books and some short stories. Given time to change, grow up and reflect as a person, maybe even an autobiography, but I doubt it. Side note, his poetry books are a good read. Anyhow, I could see him writing a script to a movie, but not necessarily be involved with making it. He could tell interesting stories and created great visuals within his poems and his solo time in the recording studio showed he had an ambition to do something more with his words not only with music.
Perhaps he would have dabled in the recording studios with a few musicians here and there, doing more spoken word pieces with musical interludes and sound effects. I say this because of the "lost Paris tapes" (read this for more context https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Paris_Tapes ), that resurfaced and also the album "an American prayer".
Sure, it's a decent movie and the soundtrack has that Floyd cover song.
