Favorite Band Ever!

Honestly there's probably like 25 songs by them that I really like/love. Recently discovered Land Ho, End of the Night, Spanish Caravan, Blue Sunday, My Wild Love and You're Lost Little Girl.

They are one of my favorite bands. Maybe THE favorite. I've never been one to pick favourites, I have too many interests. If I was hard pressed I'd have to flip a coin between The Doors and Pink Floyd.

To illustrate my point...

I have had all of their albums since my early teens. I've been to a John Densmore lecture, and even asked him a question during q&a and had him sign his book for me. I've got a few Morrison poetry books too. Loved the movie and have a few VHS tapes of live performances, which are fucking awesome.

I still can't decide if I like Floyd better LOL

Led Zeppelin is high up there too.

Not quite the same way, it would be a tie between them and Led Zeppelin for my favorite band ever.

There are lots of live recordings out there that are really great.

I’ve tried to get into them, but I haven’t been able to do so. I do like some of the popular ones — Riders of the Storm, LA Woman, Don’t you love her madly etc

I do dearly love Spanish Caravan. I saw Robby Krieger in concert a couple months back and I was so honored to be there. I had hoped he would play Spanish Caravan because I love the guitar work on that one, but he did not. It was a great and unforgettable concert.
