Have you ever noticed how they never get anywhere?
They just keep wagon training.
shareActually I have read that there are several episodes where the wagon train reaches its destination, California or Oregon, and then the main characters take a ship back east, and also that there are several episodes where the main cast lead a new wagon train out of Missouri.
It is possible that the first episode of each season had a new wagon train head west and the last episode of each season had that season's wagon train reach its destination. But I am not familiar enough with Wagon Train to say whether that is true or not.
The OP was actually referring to the movie Stand by me. It's actually a direct quote.
It's mentioned while the kids are sitting in front of a night fire while talking about "important things".
In one episode they sign up to take a ship back East. But after having purchased first class tickets and looking forward having to a good time, they end up passing out in a Saloon after their drinks are drugged. And then they fall through a trap door in the floor and were forced to work as slaves on another ship.
