Having watched all the other crap on Netflix, I saw this had just been released and put it on for the family. (Apparently the Jim Belushi K-9 movies were released also but for some reason they don't show up.) So we watched Thunder Force.
I wasn't expecting anything amazing and knew what to expect from a Melissa McCarthy film. Wasn't long before those overlong random discussions which some which some writer thought was funny on paper, like in the Ghostbusters remake, began to show up. Then it got worse.
There were some genuinely amusing moments for me, but they were more from Jason Bateman. His politician-villain boss was just a stupid character with his own trying-to-be-funny overlong diversions in discussions with his team of thugs.
In the end, it was a good way to keep the kids quiet for 90 minutes or whatever it was.
