In the first part we are introduced to the family and it's ways of running things. In the second part we see Michael in charge of things, in a very interesting plot. And how he compares with his father as the Patriarch. Then we have the third part, which depicts an aging Michael, who at times seems to have become someone else entirely, and the uninteresting plot doesn't help at all. The first two set the bar too high and the third one didn't meet the lowest expectations. It's Batman & Robin all over again. She's just not that attractive. That's all. I wouldn't call even the Matrix trilogy garbage, and you wanna call the TDK trilogy garbage? Whoever thinks the TDK trilogy is garbage has got to have a really bad taste in movies. I mean, you can't even enjoy The Dark Knight? God damn. Yeah, it was just the spike. Maybe he would have contracted some kind of infection, but not the same one the walkers carry. As long as it didn't get in contact with infected blood before making contact with Rick, of course. Yes, that's where I remember it being from. You just confirmed it. I'll play the episode later on to confirm it. Exactly. If Christopher Nolan had offered him Batman, he would probably have taken it. I agree, they weren't all bad. Indeed. Fvck yeah!!! In the earlier seasons, doesn't Rick at some point advise others to not let any of the blood and guts of the dead get in contact with their mouths and eyes? I seem to remember that. It's still convinient tho, how Negan had to bring this up again, just before Gabriel gets sick. It wish it was. Pain & Gain was so much more funny and engaging. And that movie wasn't even that good. Gotta agree. Nothing special about this one. Craig's acting is funny, but basically, there are no likeable characters and the heist is so subpar. I was expecting some ingenious, complex and thrilling heist. It just felt so easy, everything was convenient and fell into place. Maybe that's the movie's way of showing how lucky they were with this job, hence it's title. Or thinks too highly of himself. He won't do it because he is afraid it will make him stop being taken seriously as an actor. At the same time we have talented actors like, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, just to name a few, who have starred in superhero movies. We even had Marlon Brando, Kevin Spacey in CBM movies, no one is too good for CBM movies. It's just that Leo won't take risks. Don't blame him tho, considering the current state of the DCEU. Not that they should give up, but it's definitely a strong indicator that there's something not right with this universe. So maybe they should consider rebooting the whole damn thing and this time have someone competent at the helm. I hope that is the case. Meh... Not sure if you would enjoy the other two. First, they are very distinct movies one from another, they aren't even directly linked storywise. Second, Origins: Wolverine has been pretty much universally panned, the only redeemable thing about it is Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth. Even if I personally enjoy the movie. And third, after seeing Logan, and witnessing Wolverine be depicted the way he should have been from the start, going back will just feel like a stepdown and will probably make them less enjoyable for you. But you shouldn't let this third reason detract you from watching the movies, they are still fun adventures. I'm not affected by it, but yeah, it's sad. As it's supposed to, after all, you can't expect a happy ending from these types of movies. The drama is an overarching theme. (a) They want to convince themselves that Batman comics really are intended to be this realistic and intense and Maybe there is some truth to that. But IMO cinematic Batman works much better this way, working alone and grounded on reality. I don't think The Dark Knight needs 'excuses' to validate it's impact on audiences, it's easy to see why it is so beloved, it was just an awesome movie on its own. For one reason or another, it probably still stands as the most true to the dark, psychologically intense world of Batman. I do think that the imdb rating is a bit too high, maybe something in the 8,5-8,7 would be more suitable. After all those years of a more realistic Batman, and even though the fighting looks cool, sometimes I feel like Affleck's Batman comes across as silly when being around the League. Batman and maybe Iron Man, are probably the only heroes that would be feasible in real life for someone who has the resources. So that's probably why people liked the realistic approach so much. (b) They want to convince others that what they read is so realistic and intense so that they can feel less embarrassment at still reading them in their 20s and 30s. The reason they overrate that movie so much is because so much personal validation is tied into that movie for them. So the more realistic the movies are, the more comic fans will claim to anyone who will listen that they just witness a movie that is exactly like the books they’ve been mocked for reading for decades. Well, this same reasoning could also be applied to Logan, and I don't see the people who claim it to be overrated using the fact that it tried to be darker and more grounded as a factor.
