How the hell did this get good reviews? It was terrible

Just got back from seeing it and I'm really shocked this got good reviews. There are moments where you can see how this could've been something good, but it's so scattered and unfunny trying way too hard to be quirky and surreal I found it more boring and irritating than anything. Julio Torress is neither a good actor nor director and really needed someone to help him behind the camera and punch up this script. The whole thing flowed like more of a sketch comedy instead of a feature film. I don't understand either how people thought Tilda Swinton was good in this either. Her performance was one note and I get her character wasn't suppose to be likable, but she was so annoying and obnoxious it was just unpleasant to watch. I was so bored by the hour mark I seriously contemplated walking out, but I stuck it out. Not surprised A24 is kind of dumping this one in a limited release since I doubt it will have much appeal outside of the NYC/LA art student scene.

The performances are heightened. It's surrealist humor.

I enjoy surrealist humor, but this was not good.

Well, I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will definitely rewatch it when it comes to streaming.

Tilda Swinton was amazing in this! Highly entertaining. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
