Yeah, the ending definitely had me wanting to see at least a miniseries set in the Future with the kids. Or some type of story that bridges the two. Which is probably something possible if the buzz is there or NBC decides to test those made for TV movie/mini series waters again. To the response about the alternative to IMDB, I like that this site exists, but it seems like the buzz wore off and the the threads don't get a lot of traction. While it also on some shows seems to be a little more active overall it doesn't. Which kind of gives weight to IMDB's position that the message boards were dying despite the fact they always seem active. Between here and reddit though I'm getting my fix of and for discussing shows. I just finished it, and given the ultimate scope of the show I expected it to have a "Happily Ever After" ending. I think they kind of went too far to give away that the show was going to have a happy ending. The way they resolved the ultimate bad guy kind of felt muddled and just toss stuff up into a mixture LOL. The final scene left me wanting a tad bit more, just because of what it alluded to. I don't really think the show should be picked up by another network, but I think there is at least from the ending a possible NBC TV Movie or Special Mini Series that they can do later on. I have to disagree, Dar has reached the point where it is time for him to bite the bullet. If it was just a takedown of Carrie/discredit Carrie that is one thing. But, the moves he's made this season touch so many different angles there is no way he should be allowed to continue to operate in this manner. I have come out of watching the show with the opinion of I neither hated or overly enjoyed it. I just really can't describe what it was that I watched, but I would likely watch the next season. And though at the same time it's not a show I could really ever recommend to others. I will say I was in a similar position as you where through the first four episodes I was really unsure with what I was watching. I pretty much watched watched the show in this pattern: Day 1 - first episode Day 2 - second episode took a break for a couple of days and then watched episode 3 and 4, and then took a break for the weekend watched 5 and 6 and then 7 and 8 a day after that. I think the earlier seasons have a stronger re-watch value, but I do find that the show is pretty easy to watch over and over again. I took about a six month break from the show after the finale, but then one day i just got the bug again and started watching some of my favorite episodes and it just felt right. The Alex Jones character opening made me laugh so hard. This was on the heels of me finishing up his episode of the Joe Rogan Podcast. I saw it on a board post at IMDB and then saw another link for it on the IMDB Facebook page. I made an account after being impressed with the layout and look forward to coming here now when I want to see/comment on the discussion of shows.
