Something that DO work for sure is the edit-button, also on headlines for new threads, but I guess you are just perfectly happy with having a messed up headline on your 9th spamming thread of the day eh?
I call this trolling. Checking a bit of his posts around in addition to the thread-spamming just confirms it.
A comfy old shoe or leather glove.. yep, sounds about right in how I feel about this site indeed!
To further the discussion maybe? Many threads on many boards have lived on long after the OP stopped being active, with new posters picking up the reins.
It really would be good idea to put a limit to have many new threads one user can start per day..
Edit: I saw just now that you even made a <a href="http://www.moviechat.org/movies/general/posts/58b0eddb9cdce10011dcddc0">thread</a> with almost the exact same question a bit earlier.
We are talking among the biggest internet-sites in the world here. Such changes indicate huge drops in numbers of page-visits.
I imagine cathal comes from one of the other "new" IMDB-boards, where they are annoyed that this site seems to get many of the old gang because Jim had the brilliant idea of including the old posts in a "new" IMDB-forum.
Many on IMDBv2.0, thegotboard and TMDB have probably put lots of effort into creating a new movie-discussion home (like here) and they want all the old users of the old IMDB-boards. So it becomes some kind of war where this site is the "enemy" in attracting users they want. With such a view on things, the use of their old posts on the IMDB-forums is like Jim using their old contributions "against" them.
Why can't we all get along? I am sure many posts both here and there anyway. For my part IMDBv2.0 and thegotboard are way too messy and doesn't have own boards for movies/actors - like the old one on IMDB. TMDB looks nice enough and could be good, but I still prefer the clean look here + they lack the archived posts from the old boards.
lol
The Harry Potter series. Saw the first two, maybe three (?), but have not watched all the ones after.
Wow. Envy you big time! There is so many hours of excellent entertainment in that list..
A for me. Always hard to judge objectively if one movie is better than another when comparing movies from different genres and times, but The Shawshank Redemtion is my personal favorite movie of all time across all genres.
I hope they will leave it standing alone as much as possible. Big fan of the X-Men movies too, but it would complicate things if they include them in this world for me. It's a bit like Batman is awesome, but in a world where Superman also exist? Not quite the same..
Also it would bring on a stream of angry comic purists who will point out wrong timelines, interactions and such compared to the X-Men.
Have been reading how the message boards were such a insignificant part of IMDB. This graph shows very clearly that this was not the case at all.
Haha, nice one Cookie. Yeah, I guess it's like a power struggle for many - going between the boards promoting the other. I'm pretty sure we have trolls here just wanting to sour things so people go to one of the other ones.
I for one feel this site is a perfect continuation of the IMDB-boards, and just try to help create activity around in the series- and movie-boards I'm interested in.
I'm guessing he means an own "quote"-box beside the reply where the quote (what one wants to answer) will appear in the reply instantly and show up maybe in an own box within the reply, with the nick of the original poster beside, when posted. Typically one can edit the text thats quoted also (to select a specific sentence for example).
Would love to see that too btw.
Will do my best to contribute around too, but I draw a line participating in that kind of discussions :)
Yep. Guess there are many others like me who only discusses a show when there is something new to discuss. But I am really looking forward to the new season!
Got the feeling watching the last minutes of scenes that it was with considerable amount of time between that and the scenes from Eros. But also the asteroid was shown to travel incredibly fast (they could barely hang on in the spaceship).
Or the third. Horrible!
Not sure how many times I have seen the first. Probably somewhere between 10 to 20 times. Went back to watch it a second time at the movie theater when it was on even - something I only did twice in my life (other being Fight Club).
The second and the third I haven't watched again since first seeing them!
Welcome!
