That's a lovely response but meaningless bollocks.
Its a very simple equation, one i'm sure you might be able to figure out.
Don't insult your audience by telling them what they are, and then thinking that those paying customers might just decide to reply in the only way studios understand....... by not seeing the movie.
You can throw around "snowflake" and "thin skin" and "tantrum" and "cry" (you've obviously not witnessed many tantrums if this is what you think this is!), but the fact remains is, people have an invested personal interest in certain movie franchises, studios don't.
As for them being dismissive of fans who insult them, really? They need to grow the F up and either ignore them or block them, there is NO compunction to have to engage with people that insult you on Twitter.
Er, He managed that twice.
Twice the T-Rex managed to sneak up in both scenes to save Pratts character.
You're quite wrong on that. Kathleen Kennedy IS Lucasfilm, Rian Johnson works for Lucasfilm.
Both have been dismissive of fans.
You were saying?
I am right, and posting a link to The Guardian of all places doesn't alter that or show me to be wrong.
What about your predictions about Solo? You seem to have gone awfully quiet on it doing "hundreds of millions" more than Queens prediction.
So you were wrong about DP2 and now Solo.
You sure you're a reliable person to listen to?
Wrong. People started "freaking out" the second the first trailer arrived. The whole point of a trailer is to judge whether or not you think the movie its advertising is worth seeing, so the excuse of "before anyone saw it" is a poor one.
And it turned out to be a shitty movie..... seems the trailer was a fair example of what was in the movie and people judged it accordingly.
As for the "ton of racism and sexism", again, wrong.
There was some racism and sexism, the majority of detractors went out of their way to say it was nothing to do with women in the cast, and were irritated that Sony fixated on the "racism and the sexism" as an advertising rally call.
Leslie Jones didn't deserve the hate, ironically the trailers made her look an utter fool but she turned out ok in the movie itself, but she has to accept blame for engaging with the trolls in the first place.
How much shit did Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig get? None, because they didn't engage with trolls AT ALL.
You might claim that its because they were white so got an easy time, but thats clearly not true as Melissa McCarthy was the one that came out with the "living in moms basement" tweet and got slammed hard for it.
Leslie Jones simply couldn't keep her mouth shut and ignore the trolls, and trolls love it when their targets come back for more, her agent must have been screaming at her to stop.
And if you're banging on about Milo, he did no such thing.
After all that crap, we're still left with the fact that corporations and people working for those corporations attacking the very people expected to pay for your products is a universally stupid idea, and it didn't work for Sony, and god only knows why Lucasfilm thought it would work for them.
John Carter opened at #2 in its opening week.
By your logic, that movie wasn't a bomb because it was in the top 5.
Your logic is broken.
Sorry no. I've seen it this evening, and whilst its ok, it won't top Jurassic World never mind Infinity War.
The nostalgia factor got people to see Jurassic World, whilst that will help get some arses in seats for this movie, word of mouth will quickly dampen the enthusiasm.
Theres simply nothing new here to see, its simply OK, whereas Jurassic World was a genuine crowd pleaser.
I'll stick my neck out now, Fallen Kingdom will lag behind Infinity War.
Jesus wept, you were soundly destroyed on your assertions that problems in Prometheus were somehow replicated in Alien and Aliens.
I assume you like your ass spanked?
Oh Spanners, you couldn't successfully defend this shite when it was first released, six years later, I doubt you've accrued the necessary debating skills to defend it further.
"but its got layers and its nuanced."...... tell it to Covenant that "benefited" from Prometheus' "awesomeness".
Nothing changes eh? ;)
Happy to see Taudarians masterpiece survives :)
Still loves me...... unrequited Bryan ;)
