T'challa was retired because of "agenda", not to honor Chadwick Boseman

It never made any sense to me why they decided to to "retire" the flagship character from his own series rather than recast especially when you could never imagine this happening with any other iconic comic book character like Batman or Spider Man. Heath Ledger turned in an iconic & widely praised performance as the Joker, even being awarded a posthumous Oscar & yet the idea of the Joker being retired was never even close to being considered.

The decision was so unprecedented that I immediately suspected that there was a hidden, ulterior motive & "honoring" the late Chadwick Boseman was just a convenient excuse to remove the franchise's black male lead & turn it into a female led "girl power" thing & now apparently with alphabet agenda sprinkled in for good measure, if those reports are accurate.

I was already experiencing superhero movie fatigue by the time Avengers Endgame came & went so everything I've heard about Wakanada Forever so far has only made me less & less interested in it.

Personally I don't understand the reason that they didn't recast the character. T'Challa is quite important in a lot of crossovers in the comics and was married to Storm from the X-Men. Giving a good way for MCU to introduce Storm, but we need to honor Chadwick by continuing Black Panther without the title character. So stupid. You are probably bright in that they are planning to make his sister into the new Black Panther.

Agreed, it’s so stupid not recasting and I don’t really have much interest in seeing this film without the title character.

I was invested in the MCU version of the character since his introduction in Civil War and now they’re just retiring the character out of some misplaced sense of respect for the actor.

How is this going to work in this new film? Will we have to sit through a funeral for T’Challa? Will we see pointless character interactions such as ‘Member T’Challa?’ ‘Ooh, I member!’

I don’t think a character should ever be compromised by an actor’s death no matter how iconic they were perceived to be in the role. Look at what happened with Star Wars 9 after Carrie Fisher’s death, they used deleted scenes from The Force Awakens and had to write dialogue around that, it was truly awful when it didn’t need to be if they’d just recast.

I don't think so. Even if that was the case, Letitia Wright's recent vaccine controversy will make it a PR nightmare and for all we know, it could possibly had resulted in her role being reduced. So who would you even replace her with?
I think the studio was just really quite caught off-guard by his passing and didn't want to delay it any further;even before COVID they were skittish about delaying film releases.

No. It’s very simple. Chadwick was/is the First Black Superhero to hit as big as he did with audiences/fans. They are just trying to be respectful to him, his legacy & his fans.

I’m sure eventually they’ll recast “T’Challa” because $$$. But at this time with it being the first sequel to “Black Panther” after Chadwick’s passing, they were in a tricky situation & they thought this was the best/most respectful call. Basically saying “no one can or should fill his shoes” at the moment at least.

Secondly, I didn’t say “box office equals quality”. That’s all you, while you flop about trying to make your stupid point. I’m just going by the numbers, you know, like the way it’s normally done when judging how well a movie does.

I have an answer. I know who would make a good new Panther and it would NOT lessen Boseman's legacy. He at first fought T'Challa for the kingdom and lost, with T'Challa sparing his life. M'Baku as played by Winston Duke. He would be perfect. His character was offered it once. Why not again.
I also have another question.
When Killmonger was King and ordered the destruction of the plants that confer superhuman abilities, only one plant was saved.
How are they going to confer superhuman abilities now?
