No way would anyone want to see a Picard movie. I'm not sure anyone wants to see any Star Trek at this point, it's gotten so bad.

reply

SNW is decent ...

reply

I stopped watching about 20 minutes into the second episode. I couldn't take it any more.

reply

Triggered!

reply

It was awful. You would think with all the money and resources they have at their disposal they could hire quality actors and writers.

And the disrespect for the original show is too much.

reply

Obviously NOT a Star Trek fan!

reply

NONE of Kurtzman "Trek" is decent.

reply

I want to see Pine/Quinto Star Trek. Maybe they can find a role for Picard in the next one?

reply

He did "Generations," "Insurrection" and "Nemesis" when he was younger and they weren't as good as most TNG tv episodes.

reply

i liked nemesis - insurrection/generations though - yeah, i agree.

reply

Generations was so-so, only the destruction of the Enterprise-D saved it, IMHO.
Insurrection was dull but benign.
Nemesis was THE offensive PILE of SHIT in my eyes, simply for killing Data!

reply

A lot of this was down to lack of proper budget and people trying to change direction of what star trek was.

If you look at the original plans for generations it would have been a great film.

reply

Stewart interested in another paycheck.

reply

Why not? Right? There's only two real options for him in Hollywood. Star Trek and X-Men. I'm sure he can find supporting rules in other Hollywood films. But none get the same amount of exposure as the Star Trek and the X-Men stuff these days.

reply

You're right, there's nothing wrong with an actor wanting some work and it's nice to see an older actor still able to give a good performance.

I guess these types of articles tend to spin it as if he's doing it out of a deep connection with the franchise when the Picard show and TNG movies have shown that this isn't really the case.

reply

Oh, piss off, greenvelvet! Stewart should've retired long ago! I wonder why they can't actually do that, it should be a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT, in both US AND UK!

reply

Oh dear, have his performances been that bad? I don't follow him much and thought he seemed ok in Picard but his story input and the plot in general were lacking.

Harrison Ford on the other hand hasn't looked happy in a movie for more than a decade and is well overdue retiring. Makes me wonder if he has some pack with the devil forcing him to continue acting.

reply

Nothing to do with paycheck he knows he doesn't have long left i expect he is trying to do what he can while hes able to with these current people willing to work a schedule around his needs.

"Please stop" = Vast majority of the moviegoing audience.

reply

Agreed -
I do wonder what the ratings were like.
I find myself to be on the fringes of the average opinion, so while I feel most of the recent stuff is utter BS, I'm aware how often I found myself on the fringes of the popular opinion. I am, to put it bluntly, no longer part of the majority. Heck, I'm starting to think that the majority are insane lunatics who no longer act/think with reason or logic, but .... perhaps it is I who is going insane? lol

Maybe a TNG/Kelvin timetravel/multiverse crossover movie? (so would mirror 1994 with All Good Things/Generations)

FFS, he'll be walking around with a Zimmer Frame for that, he's nearly there needing one at the moment in Picard.
