Wow talk about a terrible father, he hooks up with a former cult member whos obviously screwed up, then takes his kids along with her out in the middle of nowhere in the snow to a cabin, then leaves his two kids alone with this mentally unstable former cult member for days.
I mean in what world would any sane rational father do this? Then surprise surprise he comes back and shes lost her mind and ends up killing all of them.
He did do a lot of dumb shit (Like giving her a gun and leaving her alone with the kids... mostly due to the kids state... not hers) but he didn't know she was on medication... she hides the pills from him when he enters the room... and she is very normal (even with her backstory) until the kids start messing with her... honestly if the kids just ignored her instead of stealing her medicine and screwing with her head... nothing would have happened...
He wants the kids to connect with her so some of his actions does make sense... but why in a secluded cabin... let start with her hanging out with them for a day in the city and stuff like that...
I've never seen a dumber character in a movie. Absolutely insane.
shareIt's a very bad decision, especially so soon after their mother's suicide.
However, people do make horrible decisions. I don't find it hard to believe that the dad was convinced his fiance was fine and trustworthy, her mental issues behind her.

Couldn't accept a parent would be so reckless with his own children.
Have to be a normal emotional set up with movies like this if ur then gonna go all abnormal with the movie , script.
I'm about 15 minutes in and almost said that same speech aloud just now. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME? Bringing her to be ALONE with them?????? What in the actual F*&^?
