Told you guys this would suck...
Hey what do you expect from a PG-13 sequel released 35 years later
shareHey what do you expect from a PG-13 sequel released 35 years later
shareIt wasn't as bad as some people made it out to be. 8/10 in my opinion
shareI loved it
shareYeah this was garbage
shareNot really hard to predict. Eddie Murphy hasn't been in any funny movies since the 80's. Most of them since have been garbage.
Even the first movie wasn't that great.
Well "Dolemite Is My Name" is probably the best of Murphy from the past ten years I was expecting this film to actually have at least same quality but maybe it's true you don't downgrade an R rated film to PG-13 and expect it to work 30 years later.
shareI see this is going to suffer from what im calling "Star wars syndrome"
It can never , will never , was never going to be good enough
It doesent matter how good it actually is - it isnt the original , therefore its shit.
Is what a lot of people are going to be arriving at.
Whereas I view it as a fun revisit / tribute to the original , that is way better than not having a fun revisit to Zamunda
I have to be honest the film had some good moments and some very terrible moments if today's generation laugh at some of tasteless jokes in the film I really feel sorry for their lack of comedy spirit.
One thing that bothered me throughout the movie is the color-grading and filming style it felt like a big TV special or something to that level, really low-budget.
It's really average I give it 6/10.
I agree. The production looked cheap
sharewasn’t bad at all in my opinion. Was a completely different thing from the first movie so don’t expect anything close.
Think one was more about the gags and one liners unfortunately but somehow it was charming too.
Maybe it was nostalgia but I liked seeing the old characters, especially the barber shop crew, the reverend, Randy and sexual chocolate 😂 . These things made up for all the shouting from Leslie etc.. 5/10
