So, why do people hate this?

I mean, I haven't seen this one or original (and not planning to), but do people hate this because it's shit movie or because it has blacks in it? Everyone in their right mind hates that retarded black Cleopatra bullshit, and that's understandable, but this is a movie about fictional character.

reply

What does someone being fictional have to do with anything?

People hate it because it sucks, the blackwashing just made it worse than it already was.

reply

I'm not trying to sound like some liberal or something, just interested in peoples opinions. Obviously I hate all that blackwashing trend and constant need remake and reboot everything.

reply

Then I suggest just watching the classic Disney cartoons if you haven't already. If you didn't grown up with them, don't set your expectations too high. They're still good films, don't let people fool you into thinking all cartoons are only for small children, but I don't wanna over-hype them for you.

If you wanna watch any of the remakes, then the only ones worth checking out, according to the fans, are the 2015 Cinderella movie and the 2016 Jungle Book movie, the latter of which I watched and really liked. Aladdin was ok too in my opinion, but not enough to recommend unless you're really curious.

reply

Well, I've seen some. I used to love Lion King when I was a kid. I watched the 2016's Jungle book and I liked it. I've always wanted to see the original Snow White so it's somewhere in the watchlist.

reply

They ruined a classic character in the name of a political agenda and it is only right to reject that.

reply

If you have to ask those questions, then you really shouldn't be having this conversation, because you aren't gonna understand anything about why people are so upset.

Go find a film you grew up with as a child and loved, and watch modern Hollyweird shit all over it with a horrible remake. Then you might have a clue about why we feel the way we do.

CHILL OUT,BRO...YOUR LITTLE MERMAID MOVIE IS JUST FINE...THE NEW ONE DID NOTHING TO THE OLD ONE...PLUS I HEAR THE NEW ONE IS PRETTY GOOD...YOU AND THE OTHER DOZEN ANTI-WOKE CRUSADERS NEED TO SLITHER BACK INTO THE SEWER YOU CAME FROM.

reply

It's going to LOSE millions, loser. Your woke cult has been rejected. Now slink away in embarrassment.

WHY WOULD I CARE IF A MOVIE MAKES MONEY OR HOW MUCH?...I DON'T...I HEAR IT'S GOOD.

reply

So, my 9 year old daughter is the demographic for this film. Let’s see if she likes it?

reply

I'm just glad the Disney Company has taken a break from ruining franchises that I'm invested in. It's like a little vacation until Indiana Jones comes out.

reply

You don't need to watch that. There really are only 2 Indiana Jones films anyway; Raiders and Last Crusade. Anything else is just a dogshit fanfiction that cost too much to make.

reply

I suppose I could have worded that better. I meant that since I was never into TLM, this was like the calm before the storm before KK ruins Indy for good. I have no intention of watching that train wreck.

reply

😭

reply

I am not a fan of any of these live action redos and all of their decisions are so politically motivated. They are so obsessed with identity politics.

reply

I HAVE HEARD FROM RELIABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH KIDS THAT THEIR KIDS AND THEY THEMSELVES ENJOYED THE FILM...THE HATE IS ENTIRELY ABOUT SKIN COLOR.

reply

Maybe because it's a pointless, souless remake with dull CGI and 'updated songs' with a blackwashed lead.

reply

The hate is entirely about the political agenda and rightfully so.

There are many more who dislike it because it's no good.

reply

I agree with you. Not to mention that lets say since Disney is planning a Moana live action remake if they cast the lead role with a white actress these same people praising The Little Mermaid would shit their pants and start crying racism.

reply

Most of the people who hate it haven't even seen it. I've seen both the original and this one and loved both. It's a well made, entertaining film.
