So, why do people hate this?

I mean, I haven't seen this one or original (and not planning to), but do people hate this because it's shit movie or because it has blacks in it? Everyone in their right mind hates that retarded black Cleopatra bullshit, and that's understandable, but this is a movie about fictional character.

It's great. The underwater cgi needs work, but it's good. Halle Bailey is considered one of the best parts so the "race swapping" crowd just seems silly

reply

Can't really blame race swapping when the new Spider-verse movie is creating rave reviews. I put it down to Disney's complete lack of originality, such as all the previous live action remakes that no one asked for (pinnochio and Dumbo for example)

reply

But Spider-Man doesn't count as a raceswap for unexplained reasons.

reply

1.Because it sucks 2.Because it was never meant to be anything but political agitation 3. it has Melissa McCarthy 4.Because Disney is the biggest Satanic organization the world has ever seen 5.the franchise demographic is 4 year old girls

Probably the best answer, sums it up nicely, bruh.

I went to see it last night. I know; straight, white male. But I heard all the bad stuff being talked about this movie, and pretty much the first half, yes I did not like it. It was boring to me, and this post is going to make someone mad but who cares.

The movie really picks up after she gets to the castle and she and the prince are going out on their carriage ride. That put a smile on my face and I actually started caring about the movie. Their boat ride during Kiss the Girl was great. The older I get I realize there are mixed couples out there, and there are different cultures which you learn in elementary school. I don't care that she was black/mixed. I thought her hair was cool, I always liked dreads.

The animation was weird at times, maybe not bad, I get they wanted realistic looking fish, but it was tough to wrap my head around. I was hoping for a more recognizable flounder from the cartoon movie. Scuttle in this movie was bad, I love Awkwafina but I think this was a misfire casting her. And that Scuttlebutt song of hers was horrible. Scuttle didn't need a song, and Prince Eric didn't need a song. I was so mad they didn't have a scene with a chef trying to cook Sebastian. But I am glad that Ursula got huge at the end and basically had the same ending as the cartoon.

This movie should have been so much shorter, it was like a story of two halves for me, I couldn't wait until it was over in the first half, but they got my attention in the second half. All in all, I have some gripes about it, but nothing like people are saying about it. I give it a 6/10.

Because it’s a woke gimmick and that’s not the Ariel I grew up with. I’m a minority myself and i don’t need this inclusion nonsense to feel validated.

reply

Majority is the race thing, but there's also the fact this should've gotten the Sonic treatment in terms of the animations and colour grading and didn't because the race thing overshadowed the actual issues with the movie.
