Worth watching on the big screen? Or should I wait for the digital release?

Seems like the reception is divisive.

I’d like to know too.

One of the posters was saying something about the score being nearly deafening at times in the theater, which really dampened my motivations for catching it in the theater. I want to be immersed in a film due to the narrative and atmosphere, not bludgeoned by tension driven sound design.

This was just one poster’s opinion so maybe it’s not that bad.

It's pretty meh. I would just wait for streaming. My least favorite part of this movie is how it's narrative teeters between playing it straight and getting abstract. It doesn't stay in one lane. Also, good luck understanding all of the dialogue without subtitles.

Appreciate it.

I would say wait, not really that exciting to see on the big screen and i also think the 1922 version is superior in almost every way.

reply

skip, wait for free

Not to mention, less likely to get Covid

I'm glad I saw it on a big screen. Visuals and sound are very good.

But if I had a big OLED TV at home, I probably wouldn't go, to any movie lol. Our cinemas are full of people eating popcorn like crazy and kicking into seats.

reply

Plus the cinemas are full of Covid. Have you gotten tested recently?

reply

Just saw it on the big screen. Well worth it. The close up of Nosferatu's eyes won't work the same way on a TV. The natural lighting. The sound design!

reply

Yea its worth it until the Covid kicks in

reply

Why haven't i put you on my ignore list yet, one-joke comedian? Off you go.

reply

I rarely go to the theatre anymore but I felt this looked too visual to pass up. Glad I went. It looked nice, tho some of the dialogue was hard to get. Very cinematic.

I would recommend on the big screen for the sound and atmosphere, I really enjoyed it especially at the start in the castle

TheArgentinian (7210) I have seen it at the cinema and it was very good, however, i personally think that this movie should be watched alone, with headphones on at 3am in the morning for the best effect.

In that case, big adult diapers are advised, a tripple layer brown edition for extra endurance.

One of the biggest strengths of this movies, if not THE biggest one, is exactly how beautifully filmed it is; the cinematography is nothing short of gorgeous, and its nomination to this oscar's category is the most deserving. So I'd really recommend seeing this movie in the big screen. It'll definitely increase your chances of linking the movie.
