Why do people hate movies that show empowered women?

In response to Elizabeth Banks' recent comments to say the least:
http://officialfan.proboards.com/thread/593220/people-movies-show-empowered-women?page=10

“Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money,” she said. “If this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”

Charlie's Angels 2000 and 2003 made half a billion between them.

"They’ll go and see a comic book movie with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel because that’s a male genre,”

So why make another version of Charlie's Angels which was created by two men and produced by Aaron Spelling?

“So even though those are movies about women, they put them in the context of feeding the larger comic book world, so it’s all about, yes, you’re watching a Wonder Woman movie but we’re setting up three other characters or we’re setting up ‘Justice League.’”

Justice League was critically panned and made less money than the far better reviewed Wonder Woman.

"By the way, I’m happy for those characters to have box office success,” Banks adds, “but we need more women’s voices supported with money because that’s the power. The power is in the money.”

Or maybe a better writer and director.

“You’ve had 37 Spider-Man movies and you’re not complaining!” Banks said

Spider-Man is profitable..

“My real plea is for men to have enough empathy to go watch a movie starring women”.

They did. But she dismissed those movies as being in the "male genre" even though Wonder Woman was directed by a woman, and Captain Marvel was co written and directed by women.

Some of them are just angry incels. Some of it is just misplaced anger because of the filmmakers or actors' politics instead of whether or not the movie actually LOOKS good. The rest is the internet being itself.

It turns-out, for some strange reason, men don't like to be preached at by their personality disordered ex-wives (which summarizes the 'woke' community).

And, judging from the box office, it also turns-out that men's present personality disordered wives don't like other women preaching to their men.

Finally, it also seems that the LGBTQXYZ community, less than 1% of the population that it is, isn't enough to carry a B movie comprised of 'strong wimmens' with no marquee talent.

Although I know it appears redundant to use the phrase 'personality disordered' in front of the words 'wives' or 'ex-wives', it was included for the sake of clarity, to avoid confusion in the unenlightened.

I hope that helps clear things up for you.

If it was a good movie then maybe people would be into it. The problem is...the movie sucks.

It's not the empowered women. It's the shitty story-telling, repetitive remakes, and unlikable/unknown stars in the leads. They really don't seem to care much for actually putting quality in these movies right now. They just want to get money and forget about actually entertaining the masses.

yeah I know, just can't figure out why films/shows like Alien, Terminator, Edge of Tomorrow, Game of Thrones and Wonder Woman flopped so miserably.

ehh.... why doesn't she complain about women not coming out in droves and paying to see this movie.... they are half of the population you know.

why only bash men?

I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that this is a movie that no one wanted or is interested in seeing. Probably just a bunch of woman haters trying ruin Bank’s career.
I had no idea this was being made or even came out until Banks starting complaining that it flopped. Was there any hype around this or advertising?

since the time Howard Hawks came onto the scene and showed the real picture of how women truly are when free of social pressures put onto them as to how men and women should behave

I'm afraid it's the opposite. When wome are free of social/economical pressure, most women like to focus in activities related to human interaction and nurturing. That's called the 'gender equality paradox' and you have some books and documentaries about it.
