anybody else see it in an empty theatre?

All the posts I've seen so far talk about how the crowd was clapping and the theatre was packed, I saw it and there were 4 people in the theatre including myself. I think it made it a lot more immersive and suspenseful because I almost felt alone, but was anyone else not in a crowded screening?

Really the true answer is that the whole "crowd clapping / packed theater" are usually posted by people who attended the premiere or a midnight thursday opening special (AKA drunks heh).

The rest of people see movies like normal. It's not a premiere or midnight opening. It's just a weekend night. Usually, if it's an excellent movie. the people might stand up and applaud at the end, but again not the whole hoopla that is involved with special events.

I've been to movie premieres or special showings. A: the fans tend to be more hardcore / dedicated and will be pumped. B: They're also probably more intoxicated than people at a normal theater and C: It's always an event (Maybe a Guest Star introducing it / a theme party / etc.)

As far asfor me, I think I was the only one in the theater besides the film editor. I went and watched it at a small theater at 12:00 on tuesday, probably was 30 people in the whole movie theater total (4 screens). So was really cool. enjoyed it way more than the crowded ones. It was just me and a screen that is bigger and louder than my home TV lol

I was the only one in the cinema
Sitting in the front row as usual
I agree- Much better with nil distraction

I went during the first showing of the day, at 11:00, so only three other people were in attendance in a 250 plus-seat theater.

I watched it this morning (day of release here in the U.K.), I was the ONLY ONE in the cinema watching this film.

Look at the pitifully low number of people bothering to rate it here. No matter the rating, that number tells the real story.

I just watched it at a tiny theater with 6 people including myself. Two of them walked out during the loud gunfire scenes lol.

There were 10 people at most, which was great!
