anybody else see it in an empty theatre?

All the posts I've seen so far talk about how the crowd was clapping and the theatre was packed, I saw it and there were 4 people in the theatre including myself. I think it made it a lot more immersive and suspenseful because I almost felt alone, but was anyone else not in a crowded screening?

Mostly empty. I think I would've found it distracting had there been a lot of audience participation. I don't mind big crowds in my comedies, but in horror (if it's packed) there's always going to be someone going out of his way to show how tough he is by laughing inappropriately or scoffing loudly.

I go to the movies more than you.

I saw it this past Saturday at a 10PM show. There were probably about 15-20 other people, but all were dead silent during many of the quiet moments. You could hear a pin drop at some points. I enjoyed the crowd I was with for that reason, but I agree with anyone who says watching this alone in the theater would have made for an even more tense and immersive experience.

I just saw this last night (I live in Australia) and I think it had been out in the cinemas here for at-least a month already.

It was a smallish cinema and barely half full and thankfully we were seated in front of everyone so I didn't have to see bright phone screens illuminating every 30 seconds.

People were mostly quiet for the first half. There were very quiet whispers sporadically.

During the second half though and especially for the final 20 or so minutes, people just couldn't shut the fvck up. People stopped just whispering and were just straight up talking out loud and giving a running commentary of everything.

This is a public cinema, not your living room. I paid to watch the movie, not to hear a strangers commentary of said movie. It was very rude and inconsiderate. Just wait 6 months, rent the movie and watch it with friends and you can talk all you want but don't impede everyone else's enjoyment of the movie.

Other than that I enjoyed it. I wasn't as annoyed by other people as I'm making it sound now as I forced myself to ignore them but thinking about it afterward made me annoyed.

I've just watched it in the fully packed theatre but people we so amazing. nobody was laughing, nobody had phone on. when there was a dead silence in the movie - there was not even a whisper in the audience, everyone was so tense. I honestly want to say thanks to all of these people. It was such a fantastic movie and a great crowd to watch it with - nothing can be better.
