I’ve read that it’s an anti-man wokefest
For anyone who has seen it, is it?
Disappointing if true.

It is hard not to notice the constant white man bad/dumb/incompetent while the black/brown male is “good” and all the women are wonderful and if they are opposing the heroes they end up being victims themselves and redeemed. No real female villains. It is a formula that is quite in vogue these days not just in movies but also advertisements and tv series.
sharepeople see what they want to see.
You are determined to see some giant persecution conspiracy against the white man. sad really.
Yes you might see a brown man on a tv advert. Does that offend you? they are allowed out of the cotton fields now.
Your response has nothing to do with what I actually said.
shareIt didn't feel like an anti-man wokefest. Just the main villain was a guy, managing a woman only program. Nothing special.
sharePrecisely, lmao. There was no like deep subtext or anything. One could read into the victimization of young girls but at that point, one would be just making shit up.
The little girl assassin has been a trope for decades now lol.
In the context of what the traditional Red Room was and how it was used, it's not that woke.
But in the context of today's weak-minded masculinists, it's an anti-man wokefest.
It's weird how the same concept can be perceived so differently years down the line, but that's what anti-woke opinion pieces do to our culture.
The days of The Bride and Ellen Ripley are gone. Today they are all just woke bullshit to fulfill an agenda, because someone on the internet said so.
IN aliens, they did not make the men look stupid or weak, in order to make Ripley look stronger.
Hudson, Hicks, were strong male characters that were freaking fantastic. Hicks was shown teaching Ripley. They did stuff, they had character arcs.
The idea of female assassins, using their sexuality to distract or manipulate men, while also being deadly agents, is not inherently "woke".
Hell, the freaking Avengers the tv show, was playing around with that in the freaking 60s with Emma Peel.
And I'm sure there are even earlier examples.
"Hell, the freaking Avengers the tv show, was playing around with that in the freaking 60s with Emma Peel."
That's exactly my point. If you do the stuff they did back then, it will be referred to as a woke agenda today because someone on the internet said so.
"IN aliens, they did not make the men look stupid or weak, in order to make Ripley look stronger."

It gets a pass because it's from a different time.
Today it would be "wOkE aGeNdA!!!"
Nope. Gorman was meant to be a weak link. But Hudson and Hicks, the sarge, ect, none of the others were.
If you do it right, there might be one or two knee jerkers on the internet that cry "Woke", but it won't get legs, because people won't agree. Because it won't be true.
"But Hudson and Hicks, the sarge, ect, none of the others were."
They all died except for Hicks. And Ripley ended up being the one telling Hicks what to do.
You can't get away with that stuff today. It would be "woke."
Yes... but I'm not sure how they would've gotten around this. The movie is pretty much about how a douchebag rose to power using technology to exploit young girls and women.
