ENOUGH with the movies about chefs!

Burnt, Chef, Ratatouie, the list goes on and on.

Am I the only one who is literally sick to death of movies about chefs?

All it does is glorify a basic and overpaid job and lead to our nation getting fatter and fatter. There's no imagination in it!

The only chef film I want to see is one where the chef stops selling unhealthy food and starts pushing a healthier agenda, every chef I've ever met is overweight and disgusting. At least Bradley Cooper is fit, although I hope there are scenes of him exercising in admist of all the shots of him stuffing his face!

Hopefully next year they start making movies about people with jobs that actually contribute something worthwhile to society. Who's with me?

You are either a troll or a complete idiot, or possibly both.

Don't give me songs
Give me something to sing about

I highly recommend Shokugeki no Soma for you. It's not about cooking and right up your alley.

The movie was boring and I figured it would be because it was about a chef. It was worth a watch though, seen a lot worse.

I do get bored with the food porn aspects to be sure.

Plus they always have such marvellous ingredients handy, all the time, everywhere. Take the scene where Cooper crashes with the young/poor couple and cooks a friggin breakfast feast including Snails... though he is also broke. At least he didn't throw in truffles.

I would only point out that high-class restaurant food isn't what's getting the nation fat. You're confusing it with the junk food. Actually, there's a difference.

Do.Or do not. There is no try.

I love Chef movies; they are a whiff of fresh air from themes such as gangsters, WW2, super human fantasies, baseball, rugby etc.

How can you say that there is no imagination involved. Cooking is an art and chefs can also be called artists. The success of a chef depends on how creative he is with what is available.

You want to see movies about chefs saving the world by stopping selling unhealthy food. I would suggest making your own movie with that story. You should remember that the main theme of these movies is about inspiration and how people came out of their struggles to become successful.Cooking is just a theme; similar to sports movies or boxing related movies.

All Chefs are overweight?? Go google "Famous chefs" and you will get all the famous chefs with their pics. Find out how many of them are overweight.

So I am definitely not with you. I would love to see more Chef movies with interesting stories.

Hopefully, no one.

WOW -- you truly are an outstanding mate that I only WISHHH I could have the chance of hanging out with, geeez you sound like soo much fun....a TRUEEE winner!!!!
...uhhhh, obviously all of that could not be farther from the truth b/c i feel bad for somebody like you who is sooo upset about "3" "chef" movies in the past 9 years that you need to A) create an entire thread on it, & B) start to attack the people personally, that the movies are about. Pathetic almost really.

First Off, if you are counting a children's animation flick about a mouse as a movie about Chef's, well, umm, then I just might have to challenge your intelligence. Secondly, your personal attacks are actually sooo far from the truth that it's laughable and normally I would never engage (I think this is my 2nd time posting on an IMDB thread..) but you need to at least stand corrected. UNLESS UNLESS UNLESSSSS, you are a "TV Personality" chef, or happen to own your own restaurant w/ Michelin Stars you really are not getting paid well at all -- truly NOT EVEN CLOSE to "overpaid" (something I already knew - per facts - but I also noticed another Poster throwing in some studies' evidence for your viewing pleasure). ALSO, most chefs ARE NOT overweight - quite the opposite actually. COOKS, at your local Denny's, could very well have a large % chance of being overweight, but CHEFS -who are highly dedicated to their craft- and can't stand still in a kitchen longer than 1 to 2 seconds are, by in large (no pun intended), are actually (technically) underweight - First they are burning massive amounts of calories not being able to stand still while running/expedititing a kitchen...2nd, the back kitchen is so hot they are sweating out massive amounts of water weight each-and-every-night...3rd, they never actually sit down and "stuff their faces", they pick at their food throughout the whole night to keep on quality control and never actually sit down and eat themselves.

There are so many other reasons why your post is uneducated, stupid, unprovoked, & hardly thought out - but then again maybe that's just more evidence as to the type of person you are - uneducated, stupid, & hastily acts on his feelings. But 2 "Chef" movies in the past 2 years HARDLYYYY calls for an outrage you've given us, when for 3-4 years there (and finally we seem to be cutting it down) we had movie after movie after movie after tv show after movie after tv show about Vampires -- even making Abe Lincoln one for godsakes'!!!!!!!! IDK, I haven't tracked your IMDB message board activity, but I can say with a good amount of certainty that you haven't posted on a single Vampire movie board...or Zombie for that matter....about how that's getting wayyyy to much play.
GOD, people like you make me wish I could live on a remote island and not have to interact with the garbage that your mind tells your mouth (or this case, fingers) to spew.
