ENOUGH with the movies about chefs!

Burnt, Chef, Ratatouie, the list goes on and on.

Am I the only one who is literally sick to death of movies about chefs?

All it does is glorify a basic and overpaid job and lead to our nation getting fatter and fatter. There's no imagination in it!

The only chef film I want to see is one where the chef stops selling unhealthy food and starts pushing a healthier agenda, every chef I've ever met is overweight and disgusting. At least Bradley Cooper is fit, although I hope there are scenes of him exercising in admist of all the shots of him stuffing his face!

Hopefully next year they start making movies about people with jobs that actually contribute something worthwhile to society. Who's with me?

"Burnt, Chef, Ratatouie, the list goes on and on." It really doesn't.

Don't watch them?

Also, the movies you mentioned span almost a decade, not like there are that many actual movies about Chefs.

Personally, i like them. "Chef" was amazing, and although i haven't seen "Burnt" yet, the trailer made me feel like i would enjoy watching it. "Kitchen Confidential" was an amazing show and i'm sad it didn't have more success and more seasons.

So, erm, have i fed you enough troll?

reply

So just don't watch the and stop crying about it.

Also being a chef and especially a cook is one of the toughest job there is out there and so underpaid it's almost slave labor .. unless you are on top of the profession.

Come back with a educated opinion, and i dare to to try to survive in a professional kitchen for a week ..

reply

Super tough. It's like, what do I do with this pot and that water and eggs too, and now I have to use a pan and also an oven?! Soon you'll be telling me I have to put a pizza in there and clean up spills!

reply

You obviously have no idea of what a kitchen environment is like. It's high pressure and very stressful, with crap working hours and it's also hard work. Then again you look like a kid still, who probably is still a student and hasn't even begun to start work yet in their adult life.

reply

And then someone expects me to cook their meat a few minutes less than I normally would? That's ridiculous!

reply

You ought to win Internet Troll of the month for that inane comment.
For one thing, the list does NOT go on and on. There are precious few movies about the profession. If you want to complain about a particular subject matter being done to death in Hollywood, start with comic book heroes.

"A basic and overpaid job?" You have NO clue, I repeat absolutely NO CLUE about the profession. I know because I have family that are chefs and work in professional kitchens. It is one of the toughest and most underpaid jobs going around. Seriously, I can't even begin to tell you how wrong you are about that. It's back breaking work, for precious little reward, unless of course you're a celebrity chef and have TV deals, but that's just a handful number of them.

How are chefs "leading to our nation getting fatter and fatter?" That's just trolling. You're confusing the fast-food culture in the US with this. There are chefs everywhere in the world, but only in the US do you have a majority that are obese. Nothing to do with chefs. Besides people will always need to eat. Someone has to make that food.

"Every chef you've met is overweight and disgusting??" Seriously, next time just think before you type. If you can. It'll save you a lot of embarrassment.

And then I have to read from a cookbook and mix ingredients?!

Big Night (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115678/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_70).
Good movie.

Since youre dying, do you have any wishes for a last meal?

Unexpectedly l-o-v-e-d Burnt. Cooper nearly Oscar-worthy, Miller always undervalued.

People like to disagree. So you should've just rant about how this movie was great and then you'd get what you wanted. :)

And you are about to read a book that my foot wrote. It's called on the road to in your ass

reply

I love films with themes on the art and love of food and its preparation. It is a magical world to me.

Wise words.

Not as many replies, but wise words.

Go *beep* yourself. You wouldn't last one day in a kitchen.
