They made a Final Bond movie in 1996. That was a great one, not this shitty woke manifesto.

That movie was called The Rock, with Connery playing James Bond under the codename John Mason. It's probably the only great movie Michael Bay has ever done.

You don't think this was the last movie of Bond? Well, check this video, because every small detail in The Rock fits Connery's James Bond timeline. Kudos to the youtuber that made the research, and to the writer of The Rock, who did a damn fine job.

Nah, the first Transformers is legit the greatest Michael Bay movie. The sequels don't count.

reply

Really? I didn't like the first one all that much.

I think the only one that really had my heart racing and caused me to stand up and cheer was the one with the snipers on the V-TOL that had to wingsuit into an occupied Chicago to help the Autobots take down the Decepticons. That was pretty badass with Starscream leading an aerial assault to take down any and all air support within their airspace:

Michael Bay gets a lot of deserved grief for some of his stupidity, but I can't say that I didn't enjoy that film immensely for the action sequences and set pieces.

I liked the first Transformers movie. It's not a bad movie... which is more than the current average. But it's just a decent pop-corn one, nothing more. The Rock is a master work. They don't even play in the same league.

Agreed. Bay could have been a great action director if he followed a more classic style, but he found a formula that worked and didn't require much thought, and decided to go the easy way. Too bad. Btw, I'd recommend this video, it does a very smart analysis of that formula.

Thanks I'll check it out and give it a look-see.

If you didn't know the channel, check it. It's probably the best channel in youtube about filmmaking. It doesn't have that many videos and the author abandoned it, but the ones he published, they're very good.

WTF all Transformers movies were trash.

reply

Not the first one! Best Michael Bay's movie and one of the best movie ever, alongside Titanic and the first (and only) Matrix movie. They revolutioned the industry forever.

All other Transformers movies were trash. Especially the one with dinosaur robots. That was beyond trash. Mega trash. Second best Michael Bay's movie was The Island.

So, someone on YouTube slapped a video together with their own bizarre opinion, they told you to believe it...and you did?

I have some magic beans for sale that you may be interested in...

Have you watched no time to die?

reply

Yes, a few hours ago and very much enjoyed it.

reply

An economical ploy to replace Bond with a female MI6 agent. And thats why they had to kill him. Thats what your are enjoying, my little content consumer?

reply

You have still to tell me where it has been stated or announced that the character will be replaced by a female.

reply

Its economically intrinsic. Thats when your brain is working correctly and you dont need an external aid to tie your shoes any given morning :) (this request for studies or reports for something absolutley logical is so .... todays snowflakes thinking :) ).

Was referring to the OP whos a dick

reply

No, OP is correct.

reply

There is no final bond movie, they are releasing more, the last one released was no time to die

reply

the last one released was no time to die

That's precisely why OP is correct.

reply

Please explain how?

reply

This is the official final Bond movie. Maybe the 007 franchise will continue, with the mandatory woke agenda, blackwashing, inclusivity hires and (of course) evil white males, but it won't be a Bond movie, because Bond died in this movie.

And as a final Bond movie, The Rock is much much better.

reply

Someone still does not understand the concept of a reboot...

reply

You can reboot a film a dozen times over, but it doesn't change the facts of what happened BEFORE it was rebooted. And before something is rebooted, whatever the last entry was is canon. Therefore, before 007 is rebooted into a fully wokerized abomination in 2022, this last film put the final nail in the coffin...

reply

No such thing as Canon when it comes to a reboot. They can go with a whole different timeline. They could show Bond at the start of his career as 007, for example. You really have no imagination.

reply

so beacause you dont like people of colour being in film along with females, this isnt a bond movie?

reply

My legit favorite movie is Armageddon. But the rest of your post is correct.

reply

I still love Armageddon. Michael Bay gets a lot of hate, but it's that "trendy bullshit" hate. Like, "derrrrrp, this critic made fun of him so I need to do that as well bEcAuSe iT wIlL gIvE mE cReDiBiLaDee". Fuck off. I enjoy popcorn flicks the same as some cerebral films.
