Who loved this?

After at all the criticism I'm seeing on the boards, are there ANY people who not liked "Maniac", but loved it. I did and I stand by saying it's one of the best horror films in recent years, next to "The Conjuring", "Insidious" and "The Loved Ones". No wonder we get so many *beep* sequels and redundant remakes (and yes, I know "Maniac" is a remake, but a very necessary one). Because we complain about everything and see a well-made and widely original film even if it's right in front of our faces.

So i just got done watching this movie and i must say i was mildly entertained. I didnt find it to be a great movie, i did enjoy the POV and Bilbo.
That being said i am really surprised no one has mentioned how much of an ode to other serial killer movies this was. Silence of the Lambs, Basic Instinct, American Psycho, Psycho, and a couple more are all heavily referenced in this movie.

I almost loved it. My problem with the film is that the story provided material for the film to turn into somehting much deeper than a slasher film; but unfortunately didn't take advantage of it. It should have focused less on murders and more on charachter structure.

I loved "Maniac".

I thought "The Conjuring" was unintentionally funny.

I'm with you, I just watched it and I wasn't sure what to expect. It's the reason I waited so long to see it.

It was brilliant.

Torture porn enthusiasts. Insecure man-children who live in their moms' basements, are over or underweight, have no career, don't bother shaving, changing clothes, or maintaining basic hygiene, and rather than take responsibility for their own undesirability, they instead blame women for not wanting them. This resentment builds up into an out of control contempt for the opposite sex, which in turn mixes with their sex drive and causes them to get off on retard-tier torture porn like Maniac. Your movie is sh*t.

I thought it was great. All I knew about it was that it was a loose remake to Maniac. I was immediately captivated when I realized the movie was going to take place almost entirely through the killer's eyes, that was amazing. I've never seen a movie like that before, it's never been done before.

I wasn't sure what to expect with it but it was a pleasant surprise.

I absolutely love it as well. One of my favorite films of 2012 (though its on my 2013 list because of how it was released).
