Who loved this?

After at all the criticism I'm seeing on the boards, are there ANY people who not liked "Maniac", but loved it. I did and I stand by saying it's one of the best horror films in recent years, next to "The Conjuring", "Insidious" and "The Loved Ones". No wonder we get so many *beep* sequels and redundant remakes (and yes, I know "Maniac" is a remake, but a very necessary one). Because we complain about everything and see a well-made and widely original film even if it's right in front of our faces.

Awesome, I loved it! 9/10

Refreshing to see a horror flick with some heart for a change these days.

I loved it. I was concerned that it would be watered down compared to the original. On the contrary, I thought it was very unsettling, the first person perspective was perfectly effective, and I was very pleased with the ending.

I still think they should make a Maniac 2. They wanted to do one years ago, but Joe Spinell died and that killed any chances. I still think they can make a sequel to this version though. I'd love to see this character again in another movie. I thought the first Maniac was very well done. I've seen certain horror movies that had some of the dumbest and most unnecessary sequels. They can do a Maniac 2. I can see Wood as the Mr. Robbie character that Spinell was originally going to play. I can just see him in the make-up. There was a character that Jimmy Stewart played in a movie where he was a circus clown. He was never seen without his make-up and in the end, as it turns out, he was a fugitive. They can do whatever they want, as long as it makes for a good movie. But I'm just saying I can picture Wood as Mr. Robbie.

The more I think about the film, the movie I like it. It was an experience like a car crash. You can't turn away and you dread what's going to happen and there's nothing you can do.

I've seen a lot of love for it from horror buffs. Not claiming to be one myself. But all the independent reviews I have read about it have been glowing and that's by guys who seem to have good taste and know what they are talking about. I'm just about to watch it now, so I will make up my own mind! ^^

Yeah I had heard of alot of bad reviews and having E. Wood in it didn't give me any strength for the film, I like E.W but I didn't think he could do horror but I was pleasently suprised by it! I gave it an 8/10.
I loved those movies too, I'm happy you know of 'The Loved Ones'. Are you Australian? check out 'You're Next' the second 'V/H/S 2' and 'Rec' :)
It was a breath of fresh air to watch something like this in the way it's filmed. I hate horror with fast camera, ruins the thrill of it. It's nearly like Steve Mcqueen did horror.
