shareThe Australian accent stems from the London cockney accent, so to say that British people cannot stand the Australian accent is weird. On top of that, it was the English who made up the first lot of white people in Australia, so they only have themselves to blame if they don't like the accent. Toni Collette is also Australian, you would know that if you saw some of her earlier films. A shame that actors cannot use their natural accents for the pathetic American market.
