I can't get the bottle open!

I don't think you're a terrible person for laughing. As someone else mentioned, the scene simply didn't work partly due to timing & partly because of the line delivery. It's hard to feel sympathy for the character when the occurrence seems unrealistic.

omg me too. i thought that was soooo stupid, i mean why couldnt they have found her, after she took the pills, all blue or something. i think that would have hit home. and would have been more realistic. after that line i didnt take the movie seriously at all.

That's more serious business than almost swallowing pills. Coke hurts.

I'm pretty sure in the scene at the hospital where she says she "feels funny" the mom tells her its the sedatives wearing off. So I think they implied that they had to inject her with some sort of sedative probably through needle at the scene because she was so out of control.

They could of given her a sedative pill but considering she was going to kill herself with pills... they probably just shot her in the bum with some sleepy time juice to calm her the *beep* down.

i didn't think it was funny, but i thought it was weird at first. then i figured that she might have trouble opening a child-proof pill bottle because of how emotional she was and trying to rush because she heard her friend coming and i'm sure part of her didn't want to kill herself.

by the way, right after that, was she saying "i want to die" or "i don't want to die"? i couldn't tell..

Lawlz, i came on this board to mention exactly that. it was a super dramatic scene and i just burst out laughing. i feel awful.

It's actually a pretty basic and simple scene for people to understand. She says two seconds later when her mom walks in that she doesn't want to die. So there's no guessing there geniuses. I thought the scene was well done. I don't know if most of you laughing have ever gone through something that traumatizing but it sends you into a panic attack. She wasn't thinking straight. That was the point of the scene. Geeze, it's not complicated.
