shareAs long as she still eats cheese it's a-ok.
shareHopefully she'll make out with Poison Ivy in the sequel.
shareA worrying sign she's put in bad performance if she feels the need to say something like this.
shareI mean, a reporter asked her for her thoughts about a line she delivered. And she answered the question. It's not like she brought it up.
shareAnd if she told the reporter no, the headline would be "New Batman Movie is Homophobic! We Exist!"
shareYep.
And if she left it open, the headline would be "Catwoman actress doesn't even understand her own character".
And then someone would post the article on moviechat where people would provide angry feedback without actually clicking on the link lol.
Is it part of the film, the plot? Relevant at all? If not, I'd reply with "Catwoman is a fictional character. Her sexuality is irrelevant. Next question"
shareAgreed
shareIf a character is arguably being shown to exhibit romantic inclinations towards both men and women in a movie, then I think it's a reasonable question, especially if one of those relationships is with the titular character.
Honestly, I think the reporter was an idiot, but I'd have to watch the movie to know for sure.
Whilst I am yet to see the film, I did read the quote in the link which I think is an incredibly tenuous link to such a throw away comment imo. She could have just said "Yeah. Maybe I guess".
shareThat is an equally reasonable reply. It doesn't make it a better response or a more relevant response.
And honestly, it was kind of part of the film; the reporter referenced a line in the movie. They didn't just ask: is your catwoman bisexual, which would be nonsense.
If you continue to write comments on articles without actually reading the articles, why even bother. You're being as ridiculous as the guy who was calling Sam Elliot homophobic earlier. Actually read or watch the shit you criticize.
I read the article thanks. I just think it's quite the leap to go from that line to "Catwoman is definitely bisexual".
It just reeks of trying to win Internet points.
Yes it is part of the film, but it's easily explained and didn't need a question asked about it.
shareTheres nothing in the movie that suggests this, it could be there if the viewer so wished but her performance is fantastic. A true strong woman without pandering with only one line a bit cringe.
shareSpoken like a brainwashed Hollywood liberal.
shareI’ve seen women refer to other people, including me, as “baby”. Referring to others that way isn’t inherently sexual or romantic. Selina calling that other woman “baby” doesn’t make her bisexual, especially if the movie never outright confirmed and explored that. These reporters and their loaded questions…
Even Matt Reeves said "I don't think we meant to go directly in that way.” Can you interpret it as such? Sure I guess, Reeves also said to go for it if you want. But clearly that wasn’t the intention, so people shouldn’t read too much into it.
Yeah, that reporter clearly has an agenda.
shareIf this is not an important plot driving point, who gives a shit?
shareSo much LGBT agenda in movies and everywhere, but when they get a chance to do something hot with it, they blow the opportunity.
