Is this the most stupid movie ever or what?

...I mean the whole plot... highly advanced alien civilisation trying to invade earth using giant creatures that are cloned??? or give birth??? and much more stupid humans using giant robots to wrestle them...
How stupid can that be. Why do'nt aliens use some kind of virus, why not humans use thousands of small robotic weapons instead... totaly bull crap.
I don't use to coment movies but could't help it this time.

On the other hand Idris Elba was the only one that did some acting in this movie.

Watch AVPR and come back again.

When people someone says that anything its the worst ever or Stupid ever. It just shows they haven't seen enough movies. Go watch Night of the Lepus or Troll 2 and then we can talk.

reply

Or Friedberg/Seltzer travesties, which aren't even films to begin with.

"Go watch Night of the Lepus or Troll 2 and then we can talk."

Those two films are quite entertaining, compared to Pacific Rim

reply

Well, good thing your opinions aren't facts.

reply

Nope, it's just that you're too dumb to realize this movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously.

reply

It's the most stupid AWESOME movie ever or the most AWESOME stupid movie ever. Ether way, it's awesome movie. :p

reply

Not just stupid, but stultifyingly stupid. And I enjoyed the Matthew Broderick Godzilla.

reply

To the OP

I guess you have never seen After Earth or Battle Field Earth.Otherwise you would never make such a statement.

reply

Agreed. THis is your typical piece of crap hollywood action with ALL cliches thinkable and a story so paperthin you can cut it with a dull scissor.

Agree that Idris Elba did a good job, but it didn't help much with this piece of crap movie.

This statement applies universally to any big movie people love and you hate it and cant think of any valid criticism. A lot of sperglords in this forum use it too. However I do believe that such reviews are more applicable to some: Transformers series, Hunger Games series or Avengers.
However, Pacific Rim is almost nothing like those movies, despite being more or less in the same genre.
It has solid, straight forward plot, the first 10 minutes has to be the one of the best intro to the context that a lot of movies tend to drag out or fail to establish. Scifi concepts like drifting, Kaiju, Jaeger the Breach are used and they are not at all hammed up or edgy philosophical 2deep4u type (which I think you probably enjoy)
Most importantly it doesnt try to be what it is not, no soapy teenage drama, hardly any romantic subplot, over all fun and enjoyable action sequences with amazing atmosphere and music that actually enhances the simplicity of the plot. Arguably the only big movie of 2013 that is not pretentious.

reply

No. No it does not
Yes. You are right, that the same could be applied to all those useless movies.
It baffles me especially how anyone can give Hunger Games anything over a 3/10. Just amazing how someone can actually find the movie good in any way. But I guess it's mostly 15 years old girls who vote.

Nah, you're wrong. It's your typical hollywood movie, same cliches, bad story, nothing orgininal anywhere, not very acting, the theme is pretty good I agree, but extremly repetitous, bad screenplay etc. The only thing good with Pacific Rim was the effects.

Seeing that 'The Hunger Games' is actually a well-received film, it wouldn't surprise me.

reply

Sure, well recieved by 15 year olds and movie haters. Nobody in their right mind would think that Hunger Games is a good movie in any way. It's natural that the stupid masses like hollywood crap. Not surprising.

reply

Please check RottenTomatoes and see if you're right.

Let's see what score you find there.

reply

Why would I check "RottenTomatoes". The film is terrible. There is nothing more to it. It's your typical cliche filled hollywood movie, nowa days. In the same terrible style as all these other crap movies, Hunger Games, Transformers etc.
Avatar etc.
Oh, and Iron Man of course, as your profile picture, what a horrible movie. Laughable. Works with the dumb masses, as i've allready said.
RottenTomatoes is no different.

Any movie lover with a brain or anyone who knows ANYTHING about film, would say the same. The only thing anyone could say about those movies are that they are ok brainless entertainment for a monday night after work, nothing more.

reply

I just checked your rating and your rating is apparently all over the place. If you seriously think 'Jumper' (7/10) deserves the higher score than 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' (6/10) or 'Finding Nemo' (5/10), you're in no position to call other people "stupid". Plain and simple.

reply

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, is highly overrated. Also, you have to judge them for the genre they are in.
Finding Nemo as well. Mediocre.

Jumper is underrated, not very strange, I laugh hard every time I see people rate bad *beep* movies for the weakminded masses a 7, like Iron man, Avatar, Hunger Games and then they dislike Jumper. You prove the point.

reply

In that case, 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy is on top of the fantasy genre.

I laugh hard every time I see people rate bad *beep* movies for the weakminded masses a 7, like Iron man, Avatar, Hunger Games and then they dislike Jumper.

But that's because 'Jumper' had pretty bad acting overall. Say whatever you want about 'Iron Man' or 'The Hunger Games', but those films were praised for actings.

reply

The first movie is good, the second and third, not so much. Solid 6.

Worse acting than Hunger Games & Iron Man? Don't make me laugh. But I haven't watched it in some years, so I may rewatch it and revalueate Jumper.
I think it's funny that Hunger Games & Iron Man were praised for acting. Soooo good acting. Not. They have no good script to work with anyway.

Robert Downey jr is ok, not mindblowing, but ok. The firt Sherlock movie was entertaining.

reply

Not so fat, Eastmont. 'Iron Man' didn't have a proper script at all. Most of the lines were improvised.

As for 'Jumper', it is indeed much worse. Do you honestly think Hayden Christensen has a better acting skill than Jennifer Lawrence or Robert Downey Jr?
