Finally watched The Revenant. I went into it with monster expectations. I thought it was good, definitely not great. I really thought Apocalypto was a better movie overall. Agree or disagree?

shareWow -- I'm glad to see Apocalypto mentioned. That was a great movie --- and often overlooked. It would be really hard for me to choose -- but if I had to --- Apocalypto. The Revenant was good, but if Leo hadn't been in it, I wonder if I would have liked it so much. Apocalypto was full of unknown, foreign actors. It seemed much more realistic....and the fact the guy was trying to get back and save his family made the story more tense than a revenge story.

I really enjoyed The Revenant but Apocolypto = LEGENDARY.

Agree with other posters- very thoughtful comparison.
Apocalypto for me because it all the characters were more fully developed. I was more interested in their stories, their fates. The movie was also less predictable than The Revenant.
