Nobody cares anymore

The only reason people went to see the original was because of how hyped up the 3D technology was at the time. When was the last time you heard someone talk about Avatar? This is going to underperform hard at the box office and become a potential flop.

It will do great, and it will BE great. Never underestimate Cameron, for starters. Plus….people are aching for movie “events”….a reason to go have that big, blockbuster movie theater “experience”, like everyone used to love so much.

Top Gun/Maverick proved….if it’s a big enough “event”, people will show up to the theaters again to see it.

And to the people who say the last one was all effects and no story or substance…I call bs. It was a solid story…which simply got eclipsed by the amazing effects. If the sequel is similar in that regard (good story, GREAT effects), count me in.

I can promise you it will be better than Nope, or Licorice Pizza, or that Thor fiasco, or……………………………………………………………………

The re-release of the original had a better per theater average than any other film this weekend. Betting against Cameron is risky.

Avatar was the number 3 in box office last weekend. My daughter works at a movie theater and she said that Avatar is still going strong.

It's hard to know. I think that it will be interesting to see what box office the remastered re-release of the movie makes.

Personally, the original didn't do that much for me. The 3-D was cool, and I enjoy 3-D in movies, especially since most movies aren't very good and the 3-D at least makes them interesting.

I have a 3-D TV still and will probably just wait until the 3-D version of this sequel comes out on Blu-ray to watch it at home. Prices for IMAX 3-D are truly nuts! Where I live, they're showing it only a bit of the time in IMAX 3-D, where the price is around $19. Meanwhile, the prices for non-IMAX 3-D are still near $15. Crazy.

Im not watching this. Not even on streaming.

I may TRY it free on streamer IF IF IF I hear a lot that the STORY somehow is amazing. I'm annoyed I bothered to watch the first one with that stinker of a story.

Otherwise, yeah, I'm never going to fund bad stories like this.

Good man !

We'll see if people are willing to watch it more than once. It can make serious money in theaters. Will there be enough people to make it a regular rewatch? Best case scenario: T2. Worst case scenario: independence day 2.

I wasn't a fan of the first movie but will give this sequel a chance as I've always been a Jim Cameron fan
