Who, like me, is NOT seeing this, on purpose?

Based on everything, zero interest in seeing these retreads. Went and yawned through the first one. Voting with my wallet. Who else is NOT supporting it?

(this is not for fans to jump in and whine, bugger off. This is for NOT fans. Can't make it any clearer.)

reply

I thought the first one was ok, but after the constant delays and constant backpedaling I couldn't care less anymore.

reply

This is my thought as well..

reply

No way I’m seeing this pile of crap.

First one was massively overrated but people were hypnotized by the pretty colors so it raked in the dough. I was seriously hoping these sequels would die in development and simply disappear but here we are...

reply

Don't underestimate pretty colors. That's half the fun in heavily animated films.

reply

Not interested. Saw a little of the first. No thanks.

reply

The first one was a very good cinema experience, didn't enjoy it as much on the small screen but will def check the sequels out if they are even better visually. I don't see the problem with liking a film for the visuals.

reply

Ben, you do have a point. I suspect many of us were insulted by a story and dialog made by a 9 year old. I LOVE Cameron, but suspect he is past his prime now. :(

reply

On purpose? How else do you not see a movie, by accident?

reply

I've actually managed to do that. When to the cinema, mumbled the film I wanted to see, was given a ticket, went to the room number on the ticket and eventually the wrong film started. Only then did I read the ticket properly I realize my dumb mistake - however I enjoyed the film which was something I would not have deliberately bought a ticket for and watched my original preference at a later date.

reply

I'll watch these when they come from television for free (assuming tv companies still exist by then and its not all gone to streaming services).

reply

I guess I'm an Avatar anti-fan, because there's no way I'm seeing A2. Watching the first one made me feel like an alien on a different planet, bored out of my mind while everyone else in the movie theatre was enthralled.

reply

Ah well, another ticket sold!. There's a whole new generation to profit from nowadays.

reply

What a depressing experience Avatar was in 2009. I emerged with a headache after watching through the 3-D glasses for almost 3 hours. I refuse to see any more in this franchise from the self-proclaimed "King of the World" James Cameron.

reply

Yeah, very much so. I recall looking around the theatre somewhere in the middle of viewing and just being completely puzzled by how enthralled everyone was, while I was bored out of my mind.

reply

It was the pretty flora and fauna of that alien world that probably mesmerized many in the audience. I have never once revisited it since 2009 even though it is periodically available on streaming channels. I have never wanted to watch it again and will take pleasure in boycotting future sequels.

reply

Maybe something's wrong with me, because I just didn't find it that pretty or that mesmerizing. But I too have never wanted to see it again - barely wanted to see it while I was seeing it - and though I don't derive any pleasure from not watching movies, I'll avoid the sequels for sure. James Cameron just remake Dark Angel.

reply

me three, never watched it a second time. first was 3D is a great theater, and it was ok to see, but the plot... man, that plot! yawner heaven! no thank you.

MAYBE if I hear these new ones have some amazing, much much much better writing, and twists, and not just more cool cgi boring action, I'll watch it eventually in a stream, but I cant support these money grabs

reply

I agree 100%.

reply

Damn, you're so cool. How do I become more like you?

reply

You start by READING: "this is not for fans to jump in and whine, bugger off. This is for NOT fans. Can't make it any clearer."

reply

? I'm confused? I just complimented you and I just want to be more like you...

Nice, dismissive comment though, really cool. Oh wait, I guess that was a lesson on how to be cool, whoa.

You really are awesome. It's so cool to post on a board for a movie that you don't want to watch and tell everyone its for NOT fans. That's really rebellious and sweet. Rock on champ.
